Rockets are reported to offer Lin a long contract with a backloaded 3rd year at about 13 or 14 million..8 mil a year. WTF man. how many times are the Knicks going to get screwed over?

Dolan will match even if it's a poison pill contract he's too dumb to say no

This I dont get I thought the most Lin could get is $5m which we would then match?

Apparently the Rockets could really screw us the phuck over since they A)Passed on Lin before and now want to correct that by resigning him B)Will lose Goran Dragic in free agency probably

From ESPN:

The Knicks can offer Lin a four-year deal worth $24.5 million. But another team can offer Lin a poison pill that could go as high as $40 million over four years. Such a contract would pay Lin $5 million in each of the first two years and then go as high as $15 million in each of the last two years.

So yes, Houston can poison pill the **** out of the Knicks, the same way they did to Chicago with Omer Asik.

Only the 1st 2 years, Lin can get the most is $5m. After that they can go as high as $15m per season.

even though i like lin a lot i hope we dotn ahve to match a poison pill contract. If that happens hopefully lin will prove that he is legit. I think kidd will help lin bigtime but if we lose out on nash we have to keep lin

It probably wouldn't have mattered, Lin could still have shopped around for a better contract and we'd be in the same position anyway.

Whoever thought the Knicks would be paying so much in luxury tax in the next 4 years... for a guy who was an undrafted bench warmer cut from his team at the beginning of the year. Wow.

Why wouldn't the Knicks match? Basketball reasons aside, Lin is a cash cow for Dolan, worth way more than the 40 million or whatever Houston offers.

Knicks need to sign and trade Lin for Lowry for that price. Lowry and filler for Lin would suffice.

Hell I'd expand the deal and dump Amare on them too.

Amare and Lin
for
Lowry and Scola

Proceed to use that trade exception to acquire another player.

Lin is only a cash cow if he returns to Linsanity. Yi doesnt have a huge following because he isnt all that great.
