Here we go

I wouldn't be shocked if Lin leaves. He sees hiw fans and media in NY are treating him already. He is not dumb. Build em up tear em down!

Lin Houston
Dragic LA
Nash Toronto
Dwill Brooklyn
Calderon Phoenix

Knicks
Felton(no mda)
Sessions
Foye
Watson
Lucas

Well folks it was good while it lasted

Better than visiting Toronto- at least if he signs with Houston there is a chance we could trade him there for Lowry who has the better contract and is the better player. Mind you, if Houston are letting dragic walk (essentially the same player as Lin) because they wouldn't go up to $8 or $9mil, don't see them offering Lin any more than that.

You do realize that Lin is a RESTRICTED FREE AGENT.

The Knicks can (and will) match any offer for him.

Calm down.

Hope you are right. Anything over 10mil and I dont think the Knicks match and Lowry becomes kur pg

Lin is just going to Houston to get an offer to set the market. He needs to do that. I'm guessing Knicks will match.

One relief is that I don't think Houston will have the cap room to make a "poison pill" offer to both Lin and Asik.

If Darryl Morey, Houston GM, gives a poison pill contract to Lin and Asik... and Houston is on the books to pay those two guys $25M+ in three years? When the cap is $50M??? That is team/cap/career suicide for Morey.

Oh damn I forgot. But then why bother meeting with other teams? So he can secure 5mil from the knicks?

ive learned that pretty much anything that broussard says - is wrong. he has been consistently wrong regarding many facts of trades.

he seems to just regurgitate anything agents send him. he's just a mouthpiece used to spread agendas for agents. but whatever, someone has to do it!

Because Grunwald essentially told his agents - "we'll match whatever the market price is, but we want to see the price the market sets."

So he basically told Lin to visit other teams - which I don't like. But I get why they did it. But I feel like it's a bad idea, even though I firmly believe the Knicks will match on Lin.

The main logic is that the Knicks really have no other options. Certainly not any better options. Sure, bring in Kidd or Felton as a backup or whatever, but Lin is the best starter they can get.

And the Nets still being in the mix for Howard thing came from legitimate reporters and now espn is spinning it like broussard broke the story at 6:30am this morning. When reporters where talking about it before I signed off late lastnight

I wonder hiw the media would spin it if the knicks did lose Lin and wound up with fat felton with no mda. Would they be laughing at the prospect of Lin as a starting pg?

we are better off trading Lin for Dragic or Lowry than trying to trade for Nash.
If we somehow trade for Nash, Iman would be included, and a team will test us with a poison pill.
Essentially, if we match Lin's offer, and trade for Nash, we are talking about Lin, Nash, Melo, Amare, and Tyson being over 100m payroll for 5 players with the luxury tax.

Better to concede Nash to Toronto and work a S&T with them for Fields and Calderon. To save their amnesty . Nothing is signed yet so things can happen
