Per ESPN.

Seems like a ****-block for Nash sign and trade. Do we replace Fields in the deal with Shumpert to make it happen, or does this completely nix the possibility of a trade with PHX?

Was mystified as to what Toronto saw in him. Cockblock makes sense now. That's a pretty nifty GM move there

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Knicks can match, there is a spike in year three. But it's a great move by the Raptors, he will look exceptional running the floor if they can get Nash.

Good news.

Bad news is they are preparing to sign his best bud Lin after the Knicks panic and get 40yr old Nash

one more roster spot open, we cannot match that type of offer for Fields.
3 year deal similar to Omar Osik's deal, at spike with 3rd year, worth 20m.

Depends on the parameters. If it's backloaded heavy in year 3 the Knicks may match.

Sorry I started a thread on this too- ignore it!

Hmm, what are the raptors up to? Are they trying to mess the potential Nash trade? Or do they know they've missed out on Nash and are turning their attention to Lin by signing his best friend?

I thought the proposed sign and trade for Nash was TD, gadzuric, and JJ + $3 mil?

The timing of this seems fishy to me- why agree before they know what Nash is doing?

Worst case for us is if Nash signs with Dallas then raptors steal Lin...

Deal is worth 20MM over three. There goes our depth. That contract is ****ing insane.

I like Landry - but he is not worth that kind of money. He regressed, and disappeared. Two traits that can readily be found either in the 2nd round or the NBDL.

Knicks would be crazy to match that deal. Either toronto is trying to get the knicks out of the run for Nash or they are preparing to steal jeremy lin. Im thrilled someone got fields if my team

It looks like if we don't match we would have the full MLE. Doesn't help with Nash but it definitely gets us a better player than Fields to replace him. 3 years at 20 million is insane for Fields. They can have him.

The knicks would be making a HUGE mistake to match this deal.
Fields just never found his niche with Melo and needs to move on.

I think this puts in the nail on the coffin for Nash.

I really enjoyed having Fields here. That said, kudos to him for getting such a big contract. I wish him well.

exactly one of the million reasons not to resign fields is it puts them over the luxury threshold. Guess Spike can finally wear the Lin jersey fulltime now. Hooefully

To hell with Fields, then. Let him go and pay those taxes in Canada. We can do better than him, anyway.

It frees up more space for us to get someone who is more consistent on both ends of the floor.

Knicks brass better make the right moves here... There is no margin for screw-ups.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
