also, the dwight thing isn't a done deal and i think the nets package will wind up being the weakest... then again if dwight uses his leverage he might be able to get there...

Hell,forget suicide- Dolan will need bodyguards to protect himself from fan assassins if the Russian gets this done.

If they get this done they will own NY. This isnt like the Giants Jets rivalry where one team actually wins. We dont win anything.We will be 2nd fiddle for sure. The only thing that might save us is Nash

You gotta take a long-term perspective. If this happens, why would any kid living in NY who hasn't picked a team pick the Knicks? I think a team run better than the Knicks that's in NYC is Dolan's biggest nightmare.

I keep thinking NJ(yes I'm going to keep calling them that haha)can't afford all these guys but they can probably go over the cap to re-sign one or both of Howard/Deron. Ive always been foggy on that rule. You can go over to sign a guy when you own his bird rights, but if you sign a player with his bird rights while you're under, he still affects the cap? So in a sense ideally you have to sign all the non bird exceptions first and all the players with bird rights afterwards to maximize your cap space? I'm sure that sounds confusing, if it's even correct...

The media seem to get a boner whenever they consider fantasy scenarios for the nets, it's been that way for the past few years- remember when they said the nets where a better and likely landing spot for lebron. In short i'll believe it when i see it, and when it doesn't happen, then nets will be stuck with two terrible contracts in jj and Wallace for the next 4 years.

If God is a Knick fan then thats exactly what will happen. No howard, deron to dallas and they are left marketing the team around JJ. But lets be real if there is a chance of this trade going down you really think deron will walk away from a chance to dethrone the Heat and win a ring?
