We are banking everything on Jeremy Lin to be our star points guard. What if it fails? What is our backup plan??

Papabear Says

Jeremy Lin looked very good last season until he ran into the heat. In some of those games he looked so tired that he was gonna pass out. It's gonna get very physical out there and I am wondering if his body can take it. If he gets hurt we only have Douglas to back him up. And I don't want to hear any BS about Kidd because he is joining Williams with the Nets or Dallar and forget Nash because we don't have the money and Felton is so pissed off with us for trading him that we would only be his last choice. So we think we can put in a starting lineup with only on real shooter which is Melo. Melo will get triple teamed every night the other team will let the rest of our team take jump shots.
What I am saying is this. Jeremy Lin Damn sure better be the real deal or we are up the creek for a point guard. Second I really get the feeling that Lin really don't want to play with Melo and Melo really don't want anyone to rain on his parade as a star and if Lin is the real deal he surely will shine on Melo's ego.

Lin is a legit and will get better with more and more burn. I see no eveidence that Lin and Melo don't like or can't play together.

like i said before many people are overreacting to the heat game. yes Lin played horrible but there were a lot of factors. At that time lin was playing basically the whole game every game because baron davis, melo, and amare were all injured. The kid was probably exhausted and the heat are a very fast and defensive team so i think it was just the wrong place and the wrong time.

Also, MDA refused to give him any help when he was struggling that game.

The Heat is the team to beat in the East and NBA..We have to use the MLE on another PG..I won't bank the future on Lin leading us past the Heat..We have to be really judicious on the players we surround our big three with..Extening TD was completely foolish..I like Fields but he is completely lost in the playoffs...There are 5 guys who can compete against the Heat on this roster, Amare, Melo, Chandler, Shump and JR..Every other roster spot I'll be looking to upgrade...

well JR didnt exactly compete he was horrible lol. i think lin and felton would be a good tandem since both can do the pick and roll well and both can penetrate

Papabear brings up a very valid question. I happen to think Lin can be at least as good as a guy like Dragic. I don't think some of the games he had could be seen as a fluke. The bigger risk is going with him and no durable veteran to back him up. The most important thing we do t know about Lin is how he's going to hold up during 82 games plus playoffs.

That's why landing Nash would be a dream scenario. Hahn said that we could work a sign and trade that would end up with us being able to pay Nash 6M per year.mits half as much as Toronto can pay, but if he wants a title the Knicks present the better opportunity. If not Nash then Felton or Kidd is a must. We need PG depth. Everything else will fall into place.

Banking on Lin? Knicks are banking on alt besides Lin.

Yes the knicks need to resign him. Aside from that the knicks need to address everything else. Backup point guard and wrong scorer......the season is not on Lin's shoulders

Papabear is right the Knicks are a injury prone team and they need capable backups. Felton, Brooks and Augustine are very capable backups.

I think the Knicks are making the point guard position their priority in Free Agency. They're pursuing Nash and Kidd... which probably won't work. Question is, who is their next tier of targets?

I'm beginning to think Ray Felton could be had for $3M and might not be a bad pickup.

Imagine an A team of Lin and Melo and a B team of Amar'e and Felton pick n rolls. That could be good.

I think the Knicks are thinking Lin will be a capable PG, but not banking on him to be an all-star, or else they wouldn't be pursuing other PGs so hard.

I agree Lin isnt paid 20 million. I think Lin is an important piece but Melo and Amare need to get it gogether since they are the stars. So far both have been average but it looks like at least melo is ultramotivated to get out of the first round in his career and Amare is doing the right thing by getting Olajuwan's help

Lin will be a an all star just by starting. He has china for votes.

well really its about sacrificing ones game. I mean melo cant cry if he doesnt get isosn 40 times every game, and Amare needs to be more active even when he isnt gteting the ball. Lin i feel would rather dish than score all teh time i mean he'll score if we need him to but really our two stars need to be able to scarifice their point total for teh good of the team

Ummm...that just sounded so wrong you DO know abt china and taiwan right? But hell get alot of votes cuz hes popular...
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
We are banking everything on Jeremy Lin to be our star points guard. What if it fails? What is our backup plan??
