Knicks need backup frontcourt depth...jj is injury prone and gadzuric is no good. Instead of hoping for unrealistic options (like duncan), heres a list of affordable (<$3 mil) big men:

Dj white...carl landry...dejuan blair...marcus camby...and jordan hill

I think signing one of these guys and keeping jj solves our frontcourt depth

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

The Knicks one and only healthy back-court player right now is Toney Douglas and you're worried about front-court depth???

That's what I've been thinking; up front we have Tyson, Amare, Melo, and Novak who can all be reasonably expected to play PF or C during a game. And I think Harrelson is good enough to play 10-12 mpg. Meanwhile, the only guards on the roster are Lin, TD who was awful last season, Shump who's out with a torn ACL, and Landry who's really more of a SF than a guard.

I like Jared Jeffires. I thought he had a great season for the Knicks last year. We have 2 young guys as well in Jordan and Josh Harrelson.I know thats not the ideal but the Knicks have Amare and Chandler that should be playing 35-40 minutes a night so in reality we dont have that much rotation time to fill.Meanwhile the Knicks back court consists of a Lin, torn ACL Iman Shumpert , Landry Fields "who is a horrible 2 Guard and should max be playing max 15 minutes a night" and Tony Douglas. The Knicks have 1 of the worst backcourts in the NBA. They absolutly need to get another player that can handle the ball

A lot seem to be really under estimatating Shumperts injury. Good chance that guy i never the same player again.Even if he is eventually the same player he certainly wont be next season if he plays at all. The Knicks have to act like he isnt on the roster anymore. If he comes back healthy great then we trade him, JR Smith "If he is on the roster" or whoever else we sign because they will all have trade able contracts

No they shouldn't.

Amare's only done that 4 times in his career, and only twice since microscopic surgery. With his bad knees and, especially, his bad back he shouldn't average much more than 30 mpg. Personally, I believe that MDA playing him around 40mpg in 2010-2011 is the reason his production has slipped and he's been battling injuries since then.

Tyson has only played that many minutes once in his career and has only played more than 30 mpg 4 times in his career. He also has an injury history where we should be limiting his minutes to around 30 mpg and he also collects a lot of fouls which reduces the amount of time he's able to play.

Im not saying we dont need a backup pg...i jus feel front court is more important...i def understand ur point of view...im just a big believer in lin AND td.it would be nice to pick up felton.

I get what you guus are saying though...u make a great point

Lastly...i dont understand this love affair with jorts...hes so garbage to me (of course relatvely speaking...on the court hed kick my ass...lol)...to me hes a d-league player...

I don't think anyone is in love with Jorts. He's just about what you'd expect for a guy playing 10-15 mpg.

Honestly I think people are underestimating because he is doing very well during recovery. But with that being said, I agree with Vcoug, we need to worry about solid back court depth.

I think you are going to get 1 and 2 on your list. I am not sure about camby but I think under the circumstances that would be a very good offseason.

If the Knicks resign JR which I'm not in favor of and add Redd and Brooks. That will help the backcourt. It is realistic and will help Knicks in many ways.

Spurs are Shrewd. They know the DeJuar Blair project has a limited life span and rather than resign him and watch him degenerate they are cutting ties. Dude can play and deserves the money but a good team keeps its pipeline fresh and not constipate its cap with players that MIGHT become injury/cap problems.

he still has a few years before he goes downhill, unlike when we acuired Malik Rose.
They are both similar players with their lack of size, production, and play the same role they did on the Spurs.
My question is how much if Blaire's positives and negatives are hidden by the Spurs roster, system, and coach.
With so many FA's available, where does he fit on our roster, will we have a FULL MLE to use, and a LLE.
I think Grunweld is looking to shed salaries and roster spots, but he has yet to find a deal, with our dead weight.
