It doesn't seem right when the commisioner of the league just asked a talk show host if he had stopped beating his wife.

I agree but in his defense I think it was a private message. The commish was on a national radio show. Old lawyer trick doesn't cut it if you are holding others responsible for their words in my opinion.

It was private message..which to me just shows that he knew it was wrong from the jump. I think the fine is just considering that others have received it as well.
