pick 23 Wilson Chandler 2007
pick 6 Danilo Gallinari
pick 8 Jordan Hill
pick 29 Toney Douglas
Pick 18 Iman Shumpert

2nd rounders
pick 38 Andy Rautins
pick 39 Landry Fields
pick 45 Josh Harrellson
Pick 44 Jerome Jordan

When looking back--with two lottery picks 3 first rounders and 4 pretty decent 2nd rounders---this could not be graded out at much more than a C- at best. Some of the guys started out well and fizzled--in fact that seems to be the case for many of the guys.

I would rate it higher than C considering where most were picked. Your top 3 are still good players that many teams would like to have. TD started well but, I expcet he'll be out of the league if he doesn't turn things around if someone else gives him a chance this year.

Imam....Dude is solid and I expect big things from this kid. As for the 2nd rounders, not much is usually expected of them and Harrelson and Jordan haven't really had the chance yet to see if they truly belong so, I consider them eligible for grading this upcoming season but, Fields has regressed 2years in a row now and most know how I feel about stone mitts.

With that said, 4 out of the 5 first round picks are either starters or, could start for many teams, some of them even good. Out of the 2 eligible 2nd rounders (remember Jordan and Josh haven't played enough to fairly be rated) Rautins I believe is out of the league and Landry will likely find a spot at the end of someone bench. So, I'd grade it a solid B

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Good value picks for anyone we drafted not in the lottery. But we have been bad in the lottery. Gallinari was a decent pick, but there were better players picked behind him. Hill was just a bust considering the draft position.

Briggs, What do you feel about JR Smith, Novak, and Fields?
How much would you retain them for? With our cap situation

Who would you let go, if we had to choose?
What are some options if you decide to let either go?

When Wilson Chandler is the best player of the bunch--and he was a stretch at 23 at the time--a grade of a C- is fair and deserved

We should at least have kept the 2 2nd round picks from GS, one in this years draft, and not taking Balkman's contract from the trade to Denver for Melo.
Not to mention, we could have got at least a 2nd rounder for AR.
These moves are really limiting our moves as it pushes us to the tax bracket and those high 2nd round picks are worth a lot in this deep draft.

what was expected from the 23rd pick of that draft (I think he was a very good pick at 23). Who would you rather we had picked. If you can't name another, then C is too low. Who would you have picked at 23 that year?

it's funny how hindsight makes people revisionist historians

no one thought Chandler was going to declare for the draft, let alone keep his name in the draft. most thought this was another Isiah reach a la Renaldo Balkman.

anyway, I know it's the offseason, but why are essentially picking a fight over nothing

I am truly sorry if that is the impression I gave. I thought we were sort of (respectfully) debating a point. I was just giving my impression and hoping you would counter for some friendly give and take. I can be convinced I am wrong if the argument is well thought out.

Yes knicks do well with 2nd rounders when it comes to lottery picks they use the same approach and over think everything passing up on allstar talent that is right in their face. Fortunately we have a 2nd round pick this year not a lottery pick to blow or trade away for antonio mcdyess ir eddy curry
