Yea either he and the Knicks already have something worked out or he's taking his chances. Beck is going to post a story soon.

I wouldn't look forward in use any part of our exceptions to sign JR Smith.
Not because I don't think he isn't worth it, because I think we need to fill in other needs too.
Extending him with the 1 year 20% raise is not out of the question though.

I am not sure if Novak would come back for the LLE, but that seems to be all we can afford.
I think you need 2 players that can get hot like JR and Novak, while both on the floor.
We didn't have anyone capable of breaking down the defense with a PG vs the Heat, to get them open looks.

Next stop is the draft lottery, see if we can acquire extra picks, and see who falls off the board.
Then, we need to find out if there are genuine players that actually want to come to NY at a discount.

Ok...so now that we hv jr back for at least next yr...canwe move onto r other needs..now we hv 3 SGs in jr fields and shump
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

We either address PG backup or PF/C during draft. I see us drafting 4 or 5 than a 1 though.

He knix r drafting too low to get a quality back up. I vote for signing odom and camby. If we cant then lets draft a nig man and hope he contributes

Are we even sure we want JR Smith back? He bring a lot to the table but he takes a lot off. If he wants more than 2.5 mill I'd rather have a smart player like George Hill than keep another low basketball IQ guy on the squad...

I hope the Knicks dont break into the mid level.DOesnt JR get his Bird Rights next season. If he wants to stay why would he sign a longer deal now when he can almost double his salary next season with Early birds.JR can definitely get more on the open market but Knicks need to upgrade the talent not just pay the talent they have more

We really need to address the SG situation by adding a shooter. Smith could be that guy. He is streaky and high volume but is a great shooter. I am just as happy trying to find a cheap shooter like Daniel Green, Gary Neal (who can also play backup PG), Randy Foye, etc, and letting Smith go if need be.

Would take Gary Neal over Smith in a heartbeat. If Smith does come back I really hope he refind that confidence in his J.

Also, it seems a bit early since the NBA is appealing and someone posted that Larry Coon said he believed the arbitrator made the wrong decision.

Bad news. Fields has a much better impact than JR does and would probably cost less.

Thats crazy. JR Smith is twice the player Landry FIelds is. Fields is just a body on this team with No MDA and Melo

JR is all flash, no substance on offense and mediocre on defense unless it's a contract year. Fields is the better rebounder, passer, and more efficient scorer. Fields put up very good numbers even though no one cares. Per 36 min: 11.0 PPG on 46% shooting, 5.3 rbs as an SG, 3.2 assists, 1.9 TOs, and 1.5 stls. People devalue Fields because they overvalue flashiness and inflation of PPG via inefficient scoring.

the problem with JR is that you never know what you are gonna get. his defense was better then expected although he has a bad habit of fouling guys on the 3 poit line
