Papabear Says

After the game tonight the Heat is wining because their whole starting line up can shoot the ball. If the Knicks don't start 5 shooters and defenders they have no hope of defeating the Heat. Charmers and Batia along with Bosh are awsome. LeBron who I don't like is a Beast and if they keep the starting lineup together they could possibaly win 4 - 5 titles.
We the Knicks is in trouble. With Melo being the main guy he will slow our game down to a crawl. We only have one shooter in the Knicks starting line-up This is really sad. We have a starting point guard who we really don't know what he can do. Time will tell

Chalmers and Coles really sparked the Heat comeback with their timely makes in the 1st half. I agree about stretching the floor with shooters that can also defend. This is the main reason why Landry should not be in the starting lineup. If we luck into a shooting guard that can actually shoot and Lin can improve his 3 pt shooting, then maybe there's a sliver of hope.

ummm...i thought that was kinda self explanatory being that the object of the game is to put the ball in the hoop (i kid i kid)

actually i DONT think its that simple...of course u need shooters...but u need penetrators first, who can kick out...we have lightsout shooters in novak and jr...we need lin to penetrate and melo to pass out of double teams

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

What really is mind blowing is that centers like Perkins and Chandler incapable of taking advantage of being guarded by Wade, Battier, or James. What do centers do now of days in practice or in the off-season? Not going to college really hurt the NBA big men in regards to offense. One and done doesn't really help either. JMHO.

We may have neither on the roster next season. And I wouldn't call JR a 'lights out' shooter. Dude is streaky.

Uh.... basketball itself is all about the 5 getting the ball into the basket. All else is secondary.

We're not even close to winning the East. We need a lot more than a starter who can drain shots.

I have been saying this for quite some time. We need a SG who can shoot lights out. Try and trade for a late first round pick to add Doron Lamb.

Wouldn't mind, game sorta like Ben Gordon.

The Heat and OKC are going to play the next 3 championships. I dont see any team being able to beat either of those teams. The Heat have a huge advantage because the 3 players took less to play together, All they need is to dump Mike Miller somehow and no one will be able to compete

Word, Spoelstra asking Miller to shoot 10 3's a game... WTF was that? Dude's back would give out by #5.

And from what I see, no one can compete with these guys, unless:
Chicago: gets another scorer to compliment Rose, then Miami might have some serious competition.
LA Clippers: Blake Griffin rounds out his game, Nick Young continues his hot shooting, and they add a component in the 4/5 that can actually shoot the ball and hit free throws. If LA does that they could be scary.

Tell him that if history says anything about the future, he'll be a knick for a few games before he's washed up and his contract can be voided.

If Jeremy Lin acts as a distributor for Melo, Amare, and Chandler then we will be successful. If Lin wants to impersonate Westbrook we are in trouble.

You'll be lucky just to have Melo, Amare, and Chandler all healthy together for more than 25 games.

I'm actually not worried about Lin. I'm worried about SG and backup PG. That's where this team is weak. I also disagree with the idea that the Knicks are so far off from these other teams. The one thing we have going for us is that this team proved it is a serious defensive team. We didn't lose because we couldn't defend at a high level. We lost because we had no offensive balance. That was of course mostly due to the absence of Lin and the lack of a legit SG. If you fill those 2 spots this team will look a LOT different. We need to stop looking at the team based so much on how we looked in the playoffs.

It's really all in Grunwald's hands now. If he finds the pieces this team will be the 2nd best team in the East IMO. I'm hoping and praying that we can add a SG that can not only catch and shoot but help out in penetrating as well. I hope and pray we can find a Backup PG. These are the areas that this team really has holes.

Call me crazy which i dont think o am...but yes i think the knix can compete...if lin is he real deal and the big 3 is healthy...then this is a 50win team...i think we can compete with ANYONE in the east...except miami...lol

The key will be keeping the noncore team together...jr novak and fields...im a big believer in continuity...then well get shump back...i like our depth...if we could getnodom that would b great

So all 5 guys must be able to shoot and defend? Last time I checked Sefolosha starts and plays big minutes for OKC. He can hardly shoot. Jason Terry just won a title. He doesn't defend. Tyson can't shoot. A LOT of big men can't shoot. Why is it so difficult to remember that LF was a 40% 3 pt shooter his rook year? No thats right let's play J Crawford part 2. Oh yeah, but he plays defense so it's all good.
