C'mon fellow Knick fans..I liked him back during the MJ days but then I noticed that he only coaches when there are 2 hall of fame players/best players of all time in place for him to take credit for. we don't need him...call me crazy or whatever, I have faith (again, CALL ME CRAZY...) in this team getting it done in their own way. the talent is there, i still believe they can find a way to work together, especially with a PG, like Lin. just give them time to play together without injury...

Phil Jackson is not the only who has said this pairing wont work together.

so? I'm sure many past champions has had their many a doubter before they actually won the title. just look at the Mavs last year. don't you remember the 'LOLMavs' and jokes about them? Knicks going through it now, they'll reap their reward too...

We'll see...let's not compare teams though...Dirk's leadership to Carmelo's is a no contest...it takes more than talent to win a championship. If talent is all it took Isiah's Knicks would have won one already. Those two haven't shown they can play well together at the same time so the criticism is warranted. You can insult Phil Jackson all you want but we've proved nothing to be scoffing at Phil Jackson.

This just shows that Phil is not the "Zen Master". He just coaches teams with the top players in the league. I agree with him that Melo and Amare don't mix but if he was really a "Zen Master" he would have taken on the challenge and made it work.

Don't worry, watch the media want Phil with the Thunder if they don't win the championship.

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Phil never came to coach a team that was already championship level. He took the parts and put them together.

They became great after the fact.

And nobody wins without great players do they?

Lots of teams don't win championships WITH great players.

I totally agree. MJ was not a HOFer before Phil and Shaq and Kobe couldn't win before the triangle.

Say what you want about him always coaching great players - but I think that just makes him smart.

Actually I'd *thank* Phil Jackson. Hopefully he can get more people on the anti-Dolan wagon.

We are ten years too late in pursuit of Phil.

He wants to coach in NY but the conditions are not conducive for success.

If I were The Russian I'd give him the keys to the Nets and let him do what he wants with them.

But I would not want him in California 3 weeks per month.

well this past year was suppose to be the year to prove that they can work together to be honest. I wsant them to have career years and feed off eachother but it seems like a longshot

Perhaps Phil is just pointing out the obvious that most fans don't realize. The Knicks are not a good team. They are poorly constructed, limited from the outside, suspect defensively and have one guy that cares about his stats before anything else.

You can kill LeBron all you want, but when an organization gives you Larry Hughes and AJ as your second beat player you leave the organozation. Melos had great pieces in Denver, better than he has here and he lost in the first round year after year. Fans need to realize that this team and this roster is finished if they lose the arbitration hearings. Shumpert is supposed to be a big part of the future, the guy played have a season and already has two major knee surgeries, Lin is a huge question mark, as is Amare, so your left with no bench, a center that can't score and a selfish superstar that doesn't listen.

Again, would you take this job?

Amare wasn't right this year. I think he might have had better treatment on his back if there wasn't a lockout. Hopefully he comes into camp healthy next year and expands his game on the defensive end. He works extremely hard to be a dominant offensive player. If he could put some of that focus on defense the Knicks might have something with their pairing.

True but it wasnt just Amare melo had a bad year until teh end. I didnt like his attitude and he only changed once he was able to do isios again all game. I personally think melo is more dangerous when he can move without the ball so lin he draw defenders away and maybe make Amare more dominant

Phil has seen what winning takes in NY. I might not like what he says but he has carte blanche in my book

well I agree and dantoni tried to get him to play off the ball.. but no, melo wants to stand in his "sweet spot" hold his arm up, ala randy moss style and beg for the ball, while everyone watches him do the two step for 20 seconds with the ball.... when dantoni tried to change that, melo quit on him and got dantoni fired pretty much.... so although we both agree that he would be much better moving without the ball, this guy has played iso for 9 seasons.. good luck breaking that old dog of his habits..

i dont mind isos sometimes but i dont know why a guy with so much talent like melo has wants to do isos all teh time. Obviously one reason is because melo doesnt want tor un around which is why he needs to get in better shape. Even Woodson says that melo needs to get in better shape
