Appearing on 750 The Game, Jamal Crawford reiterated that he plans to opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent.
This is just confirmation of what we already knew. Crawford has long hinted that he planned to opt out, and now he'll do exactly that. The Celtics have already been linked to Crawford, but there should be a solid list of teams interested in the volume scorer. We wouldn't be surprised to see him net a multi-year deal despite averaging just 14.0 points on 38.4 percent shooting this season.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford indicated Thursday he plans to opt out of his contract this summer and test the free-agent market.

Crawford stated his intentions in an interview with Seattle television station KING (via Portland radio station KXL).

"I'm a free agent, so I'm excited about what's there moving forward," Crawford said when asked about his future. "There will be a lot of teams out there with a lot of interest. I'll sit back after July (free agency begins July 1) and see what happens."

Crawford, 32, signed with the Blazers as a free agent before this past season. He averaged 14.0 points in 60 games but played just 26.9 minutes per game, his lowest figure since 2003.

The Blazers are Crawford's fifth NBA team; he also has played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks.

Not much of a difference between craw and jr other than age. we need a more efficient shooting two guard. Someone who wont take shots away from melo, amare & chandler and just hit his open shots with consistency. Then add odom for bench scoring

For some reason, I keep getting double post, whether replying or when I create a new post/poll.

I can't delete the other post, is it just me?
Sorry Andrew and Martin....

As for Crawford, last season, I wanted JJ Barea over him with the 2.5m exemption we eventually used for JR Smith.
I am not a big fan of Crawford, even though he has become a more team player since his chucking days in New York.

However, we I know we need a player that is capable of playing with Lin, that can help facilitate, penetrate, be a 3point threat, and be a solid defender.
Crawford does 2/4 while, capable of playing minutes at backup PG as well.

I know we need a player that can help facilitate in the starting lineup as the secondary ball handler.
Just wondering if people here would still be interested for a player like Crawford more or someone like Terry.

Ray Allen, Shannon Brown, or Jason Kidd

While even these players may not be even attainable if we do not win the early bird rights for Lin, they are more realistic options than Nash or Dragic.

Marco Belinelli. Not as sexy a name as ray allen or jr but is the efficient shooting guard we need and can prob be had for cheap. Courtney Lee is another

JR is more explosive but Crawford can handle the ball and actually play PG. They are similar in some sense.

Would have loved to acquire JJ Barea, I think DJO can be a similar player to what JJ Barea can bring but he probably won't drop to us at pick 48.

Possibly late 1st round to early 2nd round pick 25 - 35, with the results he was measured in the combine tests, with his strength, speed/quickness, and athleticism.

I want no part of jamal. At least jr plays defense

In regards to the other SG options...guys we have no money to afford these players...in the end well hv about 2-5mil to spend on 3 players

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Jr plays defense. Crawford is a better passer, probably a more efficient offensive player. But they are both streaky shooters with happy trigger fingers.
