Can someone tell me another low post player in the NBA at 6-10 220 who dominated? I can think of K Mchale but he was an advanced offensive player coming out of school--of which Davis is not close. Marcus Camby was not a dominant lost post guy. I think when 220 meets 260 we see something else.

Isnt he barely 20. He has a a lot of time to develop an nba body imo. You are right he will have to if he is going to be playing in the post. He is not Bosh or Durant

He has more of a KG skill-set. I think he's expected to be a more skilled Camby, or less skilled Garnett, however you look at it.

I think he will be awesome. His downside is Marcus Camby with offensive game. That's pretty friggin good

Yea I was thinking poor mans KG too just hesitant to mention him in the same vain. KG had a similar body at that that age and still played inside and out. Becoming dominant in the post as his body progressed

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kevin-Garnett-2520/

Kevin Garnet, Durant, Ilsasova, Ibaka are the closest ones I can think of now.
Although KG and KD both aren't true "bangers", KG has the ability to post on smaller players and for the midrange.
Durant his the mid post, but mainly because of his ability to shoot, with his first step, and with all his abilities, it opens up his game.

I see Anthony Davis being closer to Ok4 rather than a Tim Duncan.
I think it would be smart for New Orleans to get rid of Ok4's contract as neither are true centers.
He does shoot a decent % on free throws, if he can develop a 17 footer and just a few moves under the basket, he will be a very serviceable player.
I don't know if he will develop in to an "All Star" type of player.
He is more of "potential" than dominance, but he has great length/reach, which can't be thought.
Only time will tell, his dedication to improve, and continuing to develop/learn to play with the big boys.
He will not after the advantage/dominance like he did in college, but he is still raw and has plenty to grow on.

A little bit of Ok4, a bigger Brandon Wright, Noah, Greg Odon, and Ibaka *doesn't move as well as him, not as light on his feet, but has great length and decent athleticism*
I never though Noah would become as good as he is now, he is one of the best defensive big men, and with a ugly shot that goes in.
Pure hustle/hard work, energy, and dedication proved me wrong.
New Orleans has some decisions to make with some of their FAs and RFAs with

Eric Gordon
Kaman
Carl Laundry

I think a player like Kevin Garnett, will be bidding with the rest of the league.
Most importantly, KG can take him under his wing, and mentor Davis.
KG will be looking to get the most money he can with a good 1-3 year plan to get another ring.

Many teams have many draft picks, and cap room to improve greatly.
KG will draw many teams that are under the cap and even some S%T offers, with the way he excelled in the season and playoffs.

FAs and RFA
==========================
Ibaka
Ilyasova
Kaman
Ryan Anderson
Hibbert McGee

older vets
----------------------

Duncan
Camby

Harden
Eric Gordon
Dragic

older guard vets
----------------------

Nash
Kidd

Terry

Ray Allen
Billups

other role players, some with still potential, which will let market dictate their salary
==========================================================================================

George Hill *he is a scoring/defensive combo guard, think Pacers shouldn't have started him at PG, Collison is the true PG with the ability to penetrate and facilitate*
Nick Young
Brandon Rush

Shannon Brown

Teams that have cap room or assets that have the ability to offer realistic trades
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dallas

Spurs he can do almost everything Duncan does and more. KG is the much better help defender and shooter vs Duncan.

Lakers *S%T* with Gasol or Bynum

Orlando *S%T* D12

OKC *S%T* they have some nice pieces to offer to team and draft picks*

Nets *have a lot of salary and will look to market their team for a greater fan base, they can totally reinvent their team with the possible FA's this summer*
If Deron walks, they will have over 30m to spend on, with players like Dragic, Harden, Ilyasova, KG, Ibaka, Nash, and can add another player when Gerald Wallace expires.
Maybe add JR Smith to that squad as well. They are not in as bad shape some people feel. They are not very marketable here in NY, many players will have interest in getting that attention. With all the attention that Linsanity has shown, BKLYN would be attractive to many younger players looking to market themselves.

Utah *have a lot assets, that play in the same positions, to offer in trades*

Denver *with many draft picks, good and young players on good/good contracts, they have the ability assets to offer in trades*

Orlando *They can do a sign and trade for about anybody with D12*

Heat they don't have the MLE to even use, but still have the mini MLE. If they don't show they can compete with OKC with what they have now, don't be surprised if they remake Lebron the alpha dog in the Heat and dangle Wade and/or Bosh break up their trio or 1 new all star or 2 good players.

Boston *the smart thing to do for Boston was to trade Paul Pierce for expirings and picks, they have basically, NO ONE on the books besides Rhondo if they did.
They have plenty of of cap space with a couple of picks, 2 in the 1st round. I think they messed up trading Marshon Brooks who led NCAA in scoring after Jimmer.

There is still the ability to amnesty next season which will continue for cap space and help some teams out with finding cheap talent

personally i don't think davis will ever live up to being the #1 pick. i absolutely agree with briggs about his offensive limitations- they aren't just limitations he has NO low-post game and he doesn't have much of a jumper. davis put up some great defensive stats, he was a beast on the help-side, but without the zone in the nba, his ability to fly-in for help blocks is extremely limited and at 220lbs he's going to get abused by 4's and 5's. he HAS to fill out or else it'll never work and there's no guarentees to that.

really? sounds more like a Camby ceiling then. But he is very raw might still develop along the lines of odom/odom/kg. From what ive seen I think he will be real good defensively like a noah/camby. Question is how his offense comes around. You this is not channing frye a 4yr college player who doesnt rebound or defend at 6'11 and drafted 7 ahead of andrew bynum

It wouldnt surprise me in three to four years if Drummond was superior nBA C. I think the Marcus Camby stuff is right on--long athletic will dominate at times but not likely to be a 20-10 man in the nBA.

Drummond is a legit 6-11 280 not fat at all with a lot of skills that are raw right now. He has good hands unlike a guy like Kwame Brown. Even Dwight Howard was not 6-11 280 at 19. He showed in some games what he could do--he is no Thabeet etc...

I like Marshall and Rivers to from the PG. Marshall is a taller Marc Jackson with better offensive skills.

Davis like shot up from 62 to his current late in his HS career and supposivly did not lose his athletic prowess as many do when they grow quickly.

SO this guy has a handle.

We have not seen it.

Just going on what some of the hype is. I don't know how anyone can really project what he'll be come. The scouts are foaming at the mouth at his upside.

I don't see it either, but then IM not really looking.

If thats how it turns out then great for the bobcats. They really need to land the best player in the draft more than any team

Exactly he is barely 20 how can you project what he will be. Could be a bust or develop into the next kg. Its not like a Channing Frye who you knew after 4yrs of college could not defend and rebound for a 6'11 bigman in the nba. Oh wait we actually drafted that guy over Bynum cos the pressure too win "NOW" was too much from Dolan onto Isiah who was trying to save face with a good draft after crawful, Marbury & curry didnt quite work as he envisioned. As well as tim thomas and nazr mohammed

He's better than Jordan. He was better as a freshmen than Jordan was and has more overall skills. He also 30 pounds of muscle bigger.

Davis kind of reminds me of Larry Nance. Plays hard on both ends of the court, has a good outside touch and is a good shot blocker. Wouldn't be surprised if Davis puts up the same kind of numbers.

Briggs, so are you saying Davis isn't worthy of the 1st pick or if you think he is going to be a bust?
What would you do if you were New Orleans?

"Mary Schmitt Boyer/Tom Reed: ESPN Insider Chad Ford says NO told #Cavs no thanks when CLE reportedly offered Nos. 4, 24, 33 and 34 for No. 1. Can't blame 'em for trying Twitter"

http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#g10S-r28Q6

I doubt that is true, but that seems like a great deal for giving up 3 spots, for New Orleans if you believe Anthony Davis could develop in to a bust?

I agree Anthony Davis is raw, it is possible that he will develop in to a player similar to

Ok4
Antonio Davis
Greg Oden
Dalembert
Brandon Wright that is taller/bigger, which was a lottery pick you really once liked

Having long arms/reach/ and good size certainly doesn't make you an "ALL STAR" but it certainly does help in the pro level.
He is being picked due to potential and length, winning the NCAA certainly helped.

Wondering what type of player you think he will develop in to, if any of the above?
I think he can be a better version of OK4 with more all round game....
