Nice! Doing the NYC Marathon the week after, so can't join you on this one, but looks like an awesome race. Once you do this you'll probably start on Warrior Dashes and Tough Mudders in no time.

NYC Marathon, that's awesome VDesai! Did you have a qualifying time or did you enter via lottery?

American Cancer Society. The Running team is called DetermiNation. I'm actually a volunteer mentor with them so let me know if you have any questions for sure...

Awesome choice....

do you have to volenteer? or do you have to raise a certain amount yourself? I been looking into it off and on and wasn't really sure what I was reading because of my mental retardation

You have to raise money...for the marathon its $3,500 (i know it sounds like a ton, but with the right fundraising ideas and messages its pretty do-able). In return you get really, really good coaching. There are two organized group practices every week. These guys really fixed my running form/efficiency and gave me good goals. I did the NYC Half marathon with them this winter/spring and they got me from being a totally useless, fatass, 11:30 per mile runner for 4 mile races to running the 13.1 mile Half Marathon in 9:39 per mile. Now i'm running 4mi-10K races in the 9-9:15 range, I'm 12 pounds lighter and my cholesterol is half as high as it used to be. And I haven't even really changed my diet that much (the difference is now I want to try and eat healthier- but I still eat what I want). Totally life changing experience IMO. What I've learned through this process will stay with me the rest of my life.
