I don't know, he'll be 37 next season and he's looked terrible during the playoffs. There's a very good chance he's washed up; we should only bring him in if he's willing to take the vet minimum.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Well everyone knows we have no money to pay him..So it would have to be the vet min...This may be authentic...Heat has zero space as well ...

Doc and Ray are probably the the only two guys in that damn organization we shall not speak of that I like. I'd welcome Ray. If working out with a combination of Ray Allen and Allan Houston can't fix Landry's shot, nothing will.

Ray Allen is the man. We need him desperately.

Can't we give him the bi-annual exception? That's at least a little more money.

Forget Landry, I'd be excited to see what advice Ray could impart to Shump. They have similar forms and maybe Allen could help Shump develop more consistency.

Landry = a bag of peanuts and a small soda. His jumpshot got worse between seasons 1&2, still can't dribble or make good decisions. I still believe we could find a better replacement in the d-league for what he brings to the table. Lots of energy guys down there that are true 2guard. Landry fields is the 2nd coming of Shannon Anderson with less defense. Gethimoutofhere.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Ray Allen would be an unbelievable good fit here even now as he is starting to break down.

I would too, but I worry about the Knicks getting too old. The names I've heard thrown out lately are well past their prime.

If Ray can stay healthy, it'd be a great pickup. Big IF, but if he can, it would do wonders for the offense and spacing, since it is the Knicks major weakness. 27.5% isn't going to get it done if we're going to step up to be elite:

Also, a healthy Ray Allen can still run circles around the court, would be a return to the motion and screen offense we've missed since Allan Houston been retired, something Novak isn't skilled or quick enough to do.

Alls well and good until Ray tears an acl or achilles or his back and is done in year 1 of his contract

That's my only fear as well. With our luck, Bdiddy and Bibby, it'll happen that way.

If (and that's a big if- every FA uses us to get a bigger contract somewhere else) it came down to us and the Heat, I fancy our chances more, simply because we could offer him a starting spot, and the heat can't. He seemed really p'd off and disrespected when he got moved to the bench with the Celtics.

But then again, I look at the Heats awful roster, and I don't want us to make the same mistake of filling out our roster with vets who are past it and in decline- none of them have really contributed anything to the Heat. Even with the Celtics, over the past few years they've got nothing from the over-the hill players they've signed (Jermaine O'Neal, Shaq), but seem to have gotten a lot more from young players they took a chance on (Rondo, Perkins, Avery Bradley etc).

So I'd say take a chance on one vet (be it Ray Allen, Nash, Grant Hill), but don't sign too many of them- take a chance on some players with upside (and yes, that includes Landry Fields!), because the new cba is going to lock us down for the next 3 years after this summer.
