Here is the thing. Amare is our guy. He is not getting traded or any of that nonsense. The way the team currently is defines what Amare needs most to improve on during this offseason. IMHO, he can play better d if he commits to it. He could box out better, close out to his man all the time and work on becoming quicker laterally. Use of the forearm in designated areas adjusted accordingly.

The stroke is the next thing, he just needs his confidence back because his touch from the sweetspot was a thing of beauty, only a little while ago.

Any other constructive thoughts?

Anyone can be traded. See Eddy Curry, Arenas, Rashard Lewis, etc.

He said CONSTRUCTIVE thoughts.

I really think the keys are positioning, passing, and rotations. Yea, STAT and Chandler will start but the rotations with the bench after that are important.

As far as passing, both STAT and Chandler had a hard time with that, both passing and receiving. There were so many times that STAT and Chandler bobbled the ball in the post after receiving a pass. It hurt to watch. But if they can catch in stride and score, or force the defense to move on them, then dish it out, we will have more prowess offensively.

And defensively one of them really needs to move out of the post and defend the perimeter without it sinking the ship. If they work on that together I think it will be a very good thing.

Sure anyone can be traded. If we offered Amare and 14 draft picks for someone with a comparable contract, of course another team would do it. The issue is whether there is a trade that would actually help us.

I think a normal off season will do wonders for Amare. With the lockout last year and coming off the back injury it took him way too long to get into the flow of things. He was looking like the STAT of old until he hurt is back again. I think with a normal off season and a full training camp STAT will go back to beast mode.

Amare needs to work on getting closer to the floor and use up more lateral space when defending.
He also needs to work on his dribble. He dribbles too damn high when he is posting and always gets in trouble from weakside help.
He also needs to work on his spacing and off the ball movement and penetration. He is too stagnant when the ball is not in his hands.
He needs to finish stronger at the basket, although he was improving in this department towards the end of this season.

I don't mind if he starts, but him and Melo should never be on the bench at the same time.

He should also be the backup 5.
We should be able to run the pick and roll to Amare' & Chandler continuously throughout the game.

He is a hard worker and I think he will be stronger next year. I am still optimistic we will have a great season next year.

It happens to the best of them. It will probably happen, but as long as we make the right offseason pickups it shouldn't kill our club. They gotta be smart enough to have the right insurance policy in place.

(And I think that insurance policy should be someone younger than STAT, who would be grateful for the opportunity to bang with these guys in practice and prove himself when he gets floor time. Not a vet who wants to prove himself to everyone.)

I think the addition of lin will help out stat. Hes a pnr player who cant create for himself. He has no dribble
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

A big +1 on these points.
I would add that he needs to see more of the offense when he's down low. Whether he's facing up or posting up, when he gets the idea to go to the basket he goes for it. And it's often a routine move. It's probably 1 time out of 4 when he makes that move that it results in something positive for the club. That's something he needs to work on because that move isn't what it was 5 years ago. He's gotta realize that that midrange jumper that KG and Duncan perfected is his ticket to the rest of his career.
