tough loss, we should not lose to a team like the celts, not during this stretch run, I don't care how well they are playing... We needed this win.....

It's also interesting how journeyman Mark Blount managed 17 boards against us.

yeah, Both Nazr and Kurt had bad games.

At least Naz grabbed 10 boards.

There are lots of things that people have picked on Marbury for--- sometimes he dribbles too much in tight situations... and in those tight situations, he stops passing to his teammates. While I can understand him not getting the ball to anyone if they're covered, Marbury is a superior one-on-one player who can get by anyone.

When you're tired, it's much easier taking an off balance jump shot. ask anyone. :)

Back to criticizing Marbury's defense--- it doesn't bother us too much when all-star PGs score a lot on him--- it's okay, they do it to everyone.

But 3pt specialists often hurt him.

However, this isn't just about him. It also comes down to team defense and making sure you at least have a hand in a man's face. Early in the season under Chaney, our 3pt defense was particularly poor--- it tightened up for a while before Chaney was let go.

Early last month in our victory over the Pacers, I was amazed to see Tinsley taking wide open 3s in consecutive possessions... he hit at least 3 3's that period.

As good as Marbury is, and as quick as he is... he doesn't always bring it on D. He certainly doesn't take charges (you don't want your franchise guy taking charges in the first place!) and perhaps this is something to take note of. (I recall Tony Parker had one heck of a series against him in the playoffs last year-- at the end of the series, he pulled Parker aside and said, "now you belong..."-- yeah, just cuz he got served).

The Knicks played well enough to win this game. We outrebounded them and shot fairly well overall. It came down to a couple of critical possessions and we didn't execute when we needed to. They shot more free throws than we did, and that was the difference in the game.

I just had a feeling the whole game that the Knicks were gonna lose. Atleast Sweetney played well.

Anyone who blames steph for this loss is an idiot. The play was called for houston. Houston could not force his man off of him, so steph waited for him to get open. Steph finally shot the ball at his last resort. He could've driven for 2, but he went for the win. No shame in that. This game was not lost on that. It was lost by the celtics taking the ball to our weak defenders. Allan Houston could not even come close to containing Pierce.

i work in boston, and now i gotta face the music tomorrow with all the C's fans at my work...oh well

but about Kurt Thomas, has anyone noticed that other teams have figured out his game really quickly...just run out on the pick and roll and get a hand up and he wont kill you. He wont drive past you, and hes definitely not posting anyone up. I think the Knicks should tweek that pick and roll with more of an emphasis on Marbury looking to score rather than give it off to Kurt.

i've been saying that forever now-K THOMAS IS GARBAGE

i asked it before and i will again--at the very least offensivly, how does kurt thomas have any value over mike doleac? doleac has the outside shot, and doleac at least can, and will, take it to the hole.

i'm sure someone on here will cry about how doleac can't drive well..note how i said "CAN" take it the hole.

Kurt Thomas literally CANT drive-physiclly impossible

kurt cant jump so his rebounding and shot blocking is negilible

kurt shouldve been the one shipped-not van horn
Hey Mase I've been saying all along,Kurt Thomas is terrible.Isaih needs to trade this garbage.

Calm down with the hating on players who did "poorly" in the last seconds. Houston couldnt get open, no other Knicks were moving around. Marbury did what he thought was right. If he made the shot, i bet none of you would be crying. You would all be saying "Oh thank God Hardway and Houston botched the play. Marbury is truly an allstar!"

Guns, shandon is the knicks best defender. He did a great job on Pierce. It wasnt shandon's fault, more like Pierce's greatness. No one knows how he made that shot. It looked awkward and he was all crouched up beneath Shandon.

The real fault is the Knicks as a team. In the 4th quarter alone there were so many unforced mistakes. TT had a horrible night, topping it off with a miss on an easy dunk. Nazr had butterfingers the whole game. Both teams kept on fumbling the ball right under the basket! Except the Celtics would kick it out to Pierce for a jumper while the Knicks would just miss easy layups/tip ins.

metra's right...for that play shandon did fine, pierce was just able to hit a great shot. Wasnt it shandon who got a block right before that anyway?

Seems to me that Boston wanted to win and that the Knicks wanted not to lose ... played scared. That's a mental handicapp that one learns ... What other city is this hard (media wise) on its teams?

The play broke down; team broke down late ... collectively ... No leadership on the court. Did you know the Hornets have 4 team captains (Not including Baron Davis)? In the good years, Oakley, starks, harper, ewing ... Now, marbury...................

Steph had to take the last shot, no one else wanted to ... almost went it too. I mean, why didn't Houston try to get open again?

It's like they expect to lose before the game finished. They better play 60-win ball next year with all the learning they're doing...
