I'm tempted to say we should sign Nash, Andre Miller, or Hinrich, but like I said in the other thread, if we won the ruling, since it's our last MLE for 3 years, myabe it's wiser to spend the money on a younger player with upside. Then again, there ain't many of those on that list! To be honest, almost any of the vets on that list would be great.

yeah. once Melo/Amare/Chandler are off the books we can focus on the R word that everyone in NY supposedly hates.
Till then I'd love Hinrich/Andre Miller type as a backup PG/SG. Love Miller but think with our big 3 HOF frontcourt all of our wings have to be able to shoot the 3.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Anthony Parker and Marcus Camby are both realistic options who may accept the vet minimum to be in the right situation at this point in their careers. Both would be rotation players and improve this team dramatically.

I would take Anthony Parker for the vet minimum in a heartbeat. A career 40% 3pt shooter to space out the floor, just what the Knicks need especially if JR bolts.

Kris Humphries would be the guy I would go after if we miss out on Nash or a similar PG.

Yes- we have Stat, but we've been killed at times on the boards- and Humphries or Reggie Evans would help a lot.

Humphries gonna get more than the MLE.

You would think. But shouldn't he have gotten a better offer last summer?

He got $8M offer last year.

we will have to see what happens if this ruling on Lin and Novak, if we have our exemptions.
Then if we retain JR Smith...
IF we retain Fields

Then what our salary for next season and after would be...

who we draft in this 2nd round in the summer...
Then if we decide to make trades, *ahem, Amare*

As much as we could use an extra PG, I think we should look for a player that will take our defense to next level.
Build a blue print on defending Miami, Bulls, and OKC *only face them twice and in finals*

If we are able to keep those players and trade Amare for Joe Johnson or some complimentary players, our offense will fix itself without injuries....
Tyson Chandler needs to team up with someone that works on both ends, it might take 2 players to do it.

KG for the full MLE, even though he might be better suited at Center at his age, would take our defense to the next level.
He can pass, high post, spreads the floor and hit that shot right under the 3pointer consistently for many years.
We need someone that has the balls to play the enforcer role and demand the respect from Melo, to keep him in check.

Barea is much quicker and stronger than Nash, a much better defender.
Nash needs the entire roster to play well and smart, he is a big part of it.
We have a lot of dumb players that do not take good shots, move the ball.
He isn't penetrating with speed/quickness.

I do think we should add a player like Barea, that can finish like him, hit the 3pointer, and use that screen TC sets.
Gaines and N8 are possible LLE, vet minimum candidates.

I think reality TV shows hurt the players careers as an athlete.
He is a very solid player, in which I wanted, praying the MLE would be enuff to lure him to NY, till they broke it off with Kim Dash.
He isn't much of a shot blocker, but a nice enforcer role, but doubt the MLE is enough, proving himself this year with 2years of consistency/production.

I am very curious to see if Odom bounces back or not and I think he would be in the 2-3m range till he proves himself.

I would take a flyer on odom. Only way to get his career back on track. He burned his bridges in LA and DAL. Its either NY,MIA or LAC.
I would also give gilbert arenas a look.
humphries would be great

1. Kidd - Mostly for his D and tutoring Lin
2. Belinelli - Start while Shump rehabs & stretch the floor, make things easier for Melo & Amare
3. Odom - Perfect player to platoon with Amare and even backup Melo at times. Tyson, amare, odom frontcourt NICE!
4. Young PG through draft or nbdl to develop and eventually backup Lin and push tempo

That's my dream Knicks offseason

Continue to develop Jorts & Jordan.

Update

NBA Best Free Agents 2012 Listings:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/1112/nba-best-potential-2012-free-agents/content.1.html

J.J Hickson is a Forward I like whom boards, put back points & defends, block few shotss does alot of Oakley type things &
can be had. JJ perhaps would flourish even more in NY, Knicks may be able to offer around minumum with a guarantee later on

I like Mo Williams or Andre Miller over Nash however there is no way that can happen,
especially while trying to keep Jeremy Lin.

Huge Summer for Knicks ahead
Good luck

jj hickson would be nice. Still prefer odom though for the scoring punch he provides inside. Tyson & Amare are limited in the post
