I would not be surprised if he gets his Chinese citizenship and plays for China in the Olympics.

if you'd have told me 6 years ago that marbury would have a statue of him erected before the knicks won another playoff series, i think i would have jumped off a bridge. now i just find it amusing.

Give Marbury credit--re-inventing a star is hard to do and he did it and better the 2nd time around. Playing in the Chinese league is probably equivalent to playing in mid major college basketball and he has taken advantage of it. There are plenty of players who have failed miserably compared to Marbury's success.

+1 - He's writing his own script in the real world and changing lives, including his own- he dealt with being ridiculed by changing his behavior and becoming accountable to himself - I don't know how it got so out of control for him in the NBA-
Think he gets an invite from an NBA team this summer or is it too late?

IT all seems like he is trying to get his shoe company on track and be the "chuck taylor" of China. 3 years in china and the shoes are only offered online.

Its cheesy as hell to get a statue weeks after that championship. War heroes are bestowed such honor and here its only recently that the biggest stars get such honor in the very "Cathedrals" they played in. Jordan gets one, Stan Musual gets one, and Im not sure but Shaq is getting one in LSU. That one is a stretch. I hope they have one for Pistol Pete there before because he played (freshman did not play varsity back then)3 years and put that school on the map for basketball. Shaq played 2 years and no national championship.

Mar-bu-li is a egocentric good hearted guy who is not quite in the real world. Glad he has found success and maybe some peace.

Marbury helped the Beijing Ducks get their first CBA Championship. Before this year, the Beijing Ducks has never played in any championship. They beat the Guangdong Hongyuan 4 games to 1. The Guangdong Hongyuan has won 7 championships in the past 8 years. There have only been 3 champions in the history of the CBA prior to the Ducks winning this year. Marbury more than helped his team win the title. Yeah, it was a big deal.

I don't like Marbury, I used to call him Dinglebury, but he is putting his life together and I am happy for his accomplishments.

Go walk around and look at the statues in your city and what they have accomplished.

Even "Balto" got honored for being heroic!

We got how many years of Marbles spewing nonsense and shytting all over our franchise.

Am I happy he won in China? Yeah, sure, why not. Is he a hero worthy of a statue as a public honor?

Marbury is no hero.

This sounds like pure hate..and you have no reason for it...I was never a fan of him, but I did support him once he became a knick...I happy for him..
