Since you bought it up,

Take out Melo and take out Gallo on both teams.

Which one is better?

I love all the fans that think cap space can play ball. What happen when star players stay with their own time(this is what normally happens)??? You end up overpaying for role players.

Signing top ten talent instead of waiting for your trade fodder to mature will do that to your cap space.

Denver is better. Obviously.

Leave Gallo in and have Lin Stat Melo healthy the whole year. Who's better?

I agree that the stroke of luck that is Jeremy Lin may end up easing some of the pain from the Anthony overpay.

Thank you. The defense rests.

We have yet to see this in reality. The Knicks on paper are better.

We'll all tune in next year and see how/if it comes together.

Right, Gallo makes little to no impact. Melo has a huge impact on the Knicks.
Thank you counselor, I'll send you a check for finally settling the "We traded quality for a Melo starphuque" case.

Well that's really the point isn't it..In the real world we don't take out both players...One guy puts you on par with a team of many guys...Now add the pieces and see what you have..

The point was wnot Gallo vs. melo as some contend, but which team is better.

The record speaks for itself.

Teams worn out break down We lacked depth most of the season.

Its not anyones "Fault", it just happens.

"The Trade" is conceptual. SOme like the star thing and others want team thing.

We all want the last word.

The last word is wins and losses. Nuggs up two game regular season and two more in the playoffs. Thats 4 games better.

Yes, melo is better than gallo. Never saw anyone dispute this.

Its apples to oranges. Is this a question about who was better before? Who has a better org? There are many variables most of them have nothing to do with "The Trade"

Perhaps if we drafted Lawson instead of Jordan Hill and Faried over Shumpert we woulda been incredible.

All meaningless conjecture with unquantifiable metrics

What does better means? Are we suddenly playing tennis? 1v1 basketball?

Newsflash: Denver fans love what Gallo brings to the table and very few people there would like to turn the clock backward, cause contrary to Melo, he does not cannibalize his team when he plays.

And keep in mind that he's only 24 and is paid half of Melo's salary.

Denver has flexibility, youth, talent, draft picks... A great future.

What do we have?
A guy that we were sold was a superstar and that didn't even get 1 vote in the MVP ballot.

So yeah, let's try to spin it one more time to forget that we go destroyed in the playoffs 2 years in a row.

Everyone wants team ball no question about that here...To get to the next level everyone needs a closer and we have that in Melo...We finally got rid of a roadblock MDA...Give me a vet PG and I think we compete with anyone with any coach that gives one iota about defense...No one is looking for Melo to go one on one night in and out...But we must also understand and learn to use his gifts in the concept of a team oriented offense..Last coach had problem with that one ..Believe me, I wish Gallo and Will well..I still keep track of DLee, Frye, and Reezy...They will always to Knicks to me...But to gloat anytime Melo stumbles or cheer and say see that? anytime Denver wins a game is a bit much...Denver is a good deep team and will benefit from the trade...Good for them...Im more worried about the Knicks realizing their potential ...That happens, discussions about Denver will be few and scarse ...Can't wait for that day!!!

The Knicks were able to add Lin, Harrellson, and Shumpert. Lin and Harrelson were big surprises and both look like they will be good nba players for a long time. When the lockout first ended I thought that the KNicks would be starting Jeffries at the 5 again with Jorts backing him up. I think you have include the acquisition of Tyson as one of the assets the Knicks gained as well.

You are truly lost in the Knick religion, thinking the team needs to realize their potential every year. Do fans of the Spurs talk like this?

You are what your record says you are. Have you heard that one before?

Regarding this whole argument, the Knicks should not necessarily be compared to Denver directly, roster for roster, which player(s) is better. What should be assessed are the goals for each team after making the trade.

The Knicks goal was to win a championship. Not only are now on vacation for the 2nd year in a row but we fired a coach and relied heavily the luck of Jeremy Lin (God?) to get to the playoffs.

Denver, on the other hand, were probably goaling to stay competitive rather than win a championship. I would say they have achieved that.

...I could continue but I will save it for another post.

Had enough Melo?

Exactly. A core of Melo, Chandler, Lin, and Stat or Stat, Gallo, Felton, and Chandler. It's not even close.

Very interesting ... Bosh goes out with an injury and the Heat play MeloBall

"Indiana got a look at what Miami will do without Bosh in the second half, when James and Wade dominated the ball. James took 17 shots in the second half, Wade took 13. No other Heat player took more than two shots after halftime."

17 shots for LebronBury in the second half!!!!!! And, 13 for WadeBury!!!!!

Wow - what would LebronBury do if WadeBury goes down? Take 30 shots a half? Is that pretty enough BBall for you pretty ball seekers?

Damn Melo, Gallo is making you look...oh wait
