According to various reports we never even bothered talking to Jackson to see if he's interested because we are afraid of his age.

Really? It's incomprehensible to me. The guy is a legend and if he has the energy and will to coach then you hire him right this second.

The way Dolan goes about business is why the Knicks will be a failure forever. His ass-backwards approach to everything has made us suffer as fans. The fact that people still love this guy because he "spends money" is insulting to my intelligence and my fanhood. James Dolan is the anti-christ of the Knicks.

Forgive me for being infuriated that we didn't even bother contacting Jackson because "he's old". Yeah, screw a guy who has won 11 titles as a coach, let's sign Grunwald's and Isiah's best friend Mike Woodson. The Dolay Way.

Numerous reports from the NY Times, Daily News, etc. said we never inquired about Jackson because of his age.

You're absolutely right to be pissed. Jimmy likes to be part of the clUb. That's why he loves Isaiah. Only reason he wouldnt talk to Jax is because he likes being liked by Isaihs inner circle of Grunwald and Woody.

Completely irresponsible to not interview or at least gauge the interest of the best coach in the history of our league who Also WON TITLES AS A PLAYER WITH THIS FRANCHISE. AMI TAKING CRAZY PILLS?!?!?

Then the knicks are finally using their heads for once. Makes me confident that Grunwald & H20 will get Lin's contract done

According to various reports... that old chestnut.

Is he still dating Jeanie Buss? A head coach dating someone in Lakers front office bothers me more than anything. And seriously, how's his health for 40+ games of traveling?

I mean I'm all for Phil Jackson's talent, but I really get tired personally of hearing the same dozen names mentioned for head coach openings out of all the talented basketball minds in the world.

Phil Jackson wasn't always "Phil Jackson". There some guy who is coaching at today's equivalent of the Albany Patroons who may have the stuff. But God forbid Jerry Sloan, Jax, or a white-haired coach named Brown be allowed to retire, huh.

People give Spoelstra crap for Riley and the Three Amigos, but the guy is a Miami Heat lifer with experience in advanced video techniques and scouting today's players with a full head of black hair.

Can we please for once stop starphuching and thinking about bettering the organization for the long-term?

LOL.

Yeah, 11 titles isn't good enough for us. Let's hire Mike "average yes-man" Woodson who would jump off a bridge if Dolan told him to. The same coach fired in Atlanta for two straight sweeps out of the playoffs and the same coach who has no offensive game plan other than "give it to Melo" is a better option than Jackson. If Jackson can coach then he can coach. I will take 80 year old Phil in a wheelchair over Woodson because Jackson above all else can get the most out of his star players and he is the ONLY guy who can make Amar'e-Anthony work because the Triangle is the only system both these guys can flourish in. Jackson, if he himself has the passion and energy to come back here, SHOULD come back here. This team has a 2-3 year window now. That's it. That's the window this team has to win a championship with the current assembled "big 3" roster. If Phil Jackson can coach those 2 or 3 years then you don't even think twice. Like I said, age has nothing to do with coaching ability. Let him stay home for road trips. We'll only really need him for playoff basketball anyway - something Woodson totally fails at.

You're not bettering your organization long-term by hiring Mike f'n Woodson! There is no long term plan with this current roster. This is it. This is our core. 3 year window. 3 year window. We have already starphucked!

So let's make it a Stargangbang?

What if various reports to the Knicks front office say that there's no way in hell he'd come to New York?

How exactly would you lure him, James?

If he doesn't come, fine. At least we would have made a damn ATTEMPT at it. Not making anything is what bothers me more than anything.

Also, there are plenty of coaches besides Phil I'd hire over Mike Woodson. Nate McMillan, Monty Williams, Tom Thibodeau (if he's let go), Stan Van Gundy come to mind.

If true, I am equally enraged. The playoffs showed Woodys impotence on offense. This is the dumbest possible thing the Knicks can do right now.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

2011: sucks! New York needs defense!
2012: Woody sucks! New York needs offense!
2013, 2014, 2015...

I'm not enraged by the Knicks, I'm ashamed. I walk around every year supporting them and get clowned for it in their own bloody town by haters. I could give a **** if Phil Jackson is on Dolan's Christmas card list. I have no faith in this front office. Rage ain't gonna get me nothin' but high blood pressure.

No one seems to get it. If we don't win within the next couple of yers it's going to be in the 20's before we have another shot. That's why we need PJax, PG help and depth NOW. This isn't a project anymore. We're all in, for better or worse. And 1 1/2 years into this are already over.

Is Woodson really the guy we want when the best coach ever who happens to have strong ties to the franhise is available? Woodson did an admirable job, but just think about how he left JR in there and didnt find a way to utilize Novak against Miami. The right coach deals with those problems.

I'm sure Phil looks forward to sullying his sterling coaching career with Dolan up his ass.

I think Woodson would already be signed to a contract if they weren't checking out if Phil is interested. Remember MJax had the KNicks job and then Walsh went all in on Nightmare Walking at the last minute.

Did Phil Jackson ever win a playoff series with a decimated backcourt and underachieving all stars? I'm sincerely asking this, because maybe he has.

The starphuching is just plain so worn out. Chasing brand names is why we have this supposed 3 year or else window in the first place, no?

Woodson just fired his agent at the behest of Dolan. They are just sorting out the details now.

Has Woodson ever won anything in his career to prove he can win with or without a decimated backcourt and underachieving all-stars?

the idea that phil would come here is pretty foolish. and there's no telling that the knicks didn't put out feelers.

Exactly Woodson would've been signed before the playoffs even began if the knicks had zero interest in Phil. You guys are nuts. Keep believing everything the media puts out.
