Over the years, we have a lot players unable to develop and play consistently in New York.
Maybe its the media, maybe its the NY pressure, maybe its the Knick's development coaches, maybe it's all the inconsistency we have had over this decade, maybe they just need a change

BUT

I don't think it is all a coincidence

TD may never be a true PG but something tells me, if he gets traded or leaves NY, on the right team, on the right system, regains some confidence, he is going to find a role for himself and the team as a 6th-7th man type player, like a poor version of ....

Terry/Barbosa/Billups

The Truth hurts.
Tony is a bum... plain and simple.
Why... because we do not have brain development coaches...

Im am definitely of the mindset that new york pressure from fans & media ruins players, coaches & gms that come here. Some might blame Dolan but I think its deeper than that. It takes special players to succeed in NY. I wonder how LEBRON wouldve done here? My guess.is he couldnt handle the pressure so he took the easiest route.

No wonder some of you guys have the opinions you have. You need to be more careful who you allow to influence your thought process. I'm just sayin....

Toney will never have the scoring ability because he doesn't have the quickness or the handle. He also has an awkward shot but he could become a consistent shooter and an excellent defender if coached right.

I think Tony Bennett can be a really good singer if he put his mind to it.

Tony Danza was pretty funny for the 80's

James Toney should never have fought in the UFC

I think Tony Orlando might have a shot if he teams up with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson.

Respectively I dont see TD ever being a PG cause he's shoot first, 3pt first happy
when you ever see TD has 8-10 as_sists in game when he used to start ?

TD got heart but he's awful and to compare TD to JTerry, Barbosa and Billups aint accurate
Those guys I mention on their worst days is BETTER than TD and 2 of the 3 cited here got NBA title rings

Awful comparison

notice how rare it is for big free agent signings to pan out in New York because of pressure from media and fans? As opposed to homegrown guys like Jeter, Eli, Ewing, Revis etc

We usually get them past their prime or the money puts them there.

Add Namath to home grown hero list. Don Mattingly.

Ever notice how free agency didn't exist before 1970?
Ever hear of Latrell Sprewell, Alan Houston, Reggie Jackson, Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui, CC Sebathia, ummm...Arod? And that's just off the top of my head.

Free agency can work out. We rode the Ewing horse for two decades. Maybe this starphucque will work out. Stranger things have happened.

My bad. My stock answer for almost everything is "Spree".

Can't watch on my phone. But someone else mentioned Douglas so I chimed in. Can't stand losing and we won't ever win with him.
