Granted the man's play was infuriating at times, but I think he deserves a hearty send-off. He obviously worked hard to get himself back into playing shape and by all accounts was a stand-up locker room guy. I saw many instances of his coaching from the bench and I hazard to say he was a boon to our young guns.

And any guy who suffers that knee injury deserves nothing but a pat on the back. Good Lord that replay makes me want to puke.

(Also, has it reached the point where our point guards have become the drummers for Spinal Tap?)

While the injured looked very serious, we should probably wait for the medical diagnois before declaring Davis done for his career.

Knicks fans did a great job sending him off if he retires.

That was a gruesome injury for sure. Get well soon Baron, hopefully you're able to retire from bball on your own terms.

Couldn't believe it when it happened- the third grizzly injury to befall a Knick this post season- poor Jorts (who was the first to spot Amar'e palm hanging off) looked traumatised for life as he sat on the bench!

BD was one of my favourite Knicks this season- I know his play really disappointed, but he was a real warrior battling through injuries to his back, hamstring, neck and knee- tough guy considering his reputation was that he didn't play through injuries.

It was sad watching Game 1- he was clarly psyched, and ready to have a big game (he even dunked!), only for his body to betray him- tough moment when you realise you can't do what you used to be able to do.

I hope he doesn't have any ligament damage etc, and can play again- I'd like to see him back with us and healthier next season.

Gruesome (looking) injury but not a bad one. Should have no problem playing/stinking for a new team next year.

Judging from that pic, his knee says "OWWW!!!" but his face says "hm, this is invconvenient."

well said and I agree.

Without his D on LeBron, I doubt Melo would've dropped 40. He helped him conserve a ton of energy

Word from Hahn:

‎#Knicks announce MRI revealed partial tear of patella tendon and complete tears of ACL and MCL for Baron Davis. Out 12 months. Wow.

Boldface, underline, and highlight "Backup PG" on our list of roster needs.

Post-season ACL tear count up to 3 already, and it's only the first round? Hopefully no more condensed schedules in the future.

holy crap that's horrid. I want to say that this will be it for Baron; no way he can make it back by next season and then he'll be on the cusp of 35 years old when he could be available if everything works out.

that is just sad. baron worked so hard to come back from the debilitating back injury and now this? gotta feel for the guy. best of luck to him in getting his knee rehabbed.

A real shame, he ain't coming back from that. seriously- has any team had 2 players tear their ACL's in one play off series?!

This also screws us next season- I was pretty sure we were set for a backup PG, now we have to find one with no money.

Poor BD- like I said earlier, he was one of my favourite Knicks this season- hope this injury doesn't effect his quality of life

Dude, you are absolutely right. I will this guy well. I hope the Knicks draft a young point guard.

You need a young backup PG to backup Lin incase Lin misses any extended time next year. They can keep Bibby as a clutch shooter 3rd string but he can't be relied on if anything happens to Lin

That's pretty much the entire season for BD. Anyone else thinks BD is going to retire anyway??? He'll never be the same again ever even after a full recovery.

He will come back and enjoy a good career as a backup PG. He will get his steals, make good passes and be a solid backup. But the flying dunking Baron is done at 33...
