This team hasn't played hard on both ends for 4 qtrs all season, why did they expect they could just turn it up in the postseason? Melo has shown all season that he can't play lock down defense and score, the conditioning just isn't there, although it is better then last year....and Lebron is a tough cover

There's a reason why Chicago plays hard all year long against even lesser teams...they've been to the postseason and know what it is to come up short and have learned what it takes to win. It's one thing to talk about winning when it counts most...it's another thing entirely to do what it takes to be ready to win when the time comes.

sacrifice...I want to see it or i'm done with this team. These losses are just to hearbreaking man, I just can't take it

I heard it somewhere that in a battle, 50% is mental. You have that 50% you are almost guaranteed to win. When you want something bad enough and you will stop at nothing to get it, I will pity anyone who crosses your path. Thing is many times, the players look like they are just doing their games like a routine. You know what routine is = boring. If you are bored, you don't have your heart in it. And why might we ask? Because whether they play bad or not, their salaries are guaranteed, in the millions for most of them. There is no motivation anymore. Heck, if I am guaranteed to get $100 million in the next 5 years, why would I have to work that hard? The very reason why I am playing is already in the bag!

I'm not motivated by Money. I recognize the need for money, but it's not what makes me work hard or work less if I happen to have a lot of money. I have a PASSION for the career i've chosen and I give 110% when i'm into a project. Now human nature is such that every so often I may wake up less than I may normally be and you have health issues but when it comes to the big jobs that I have i'm always up for those and nothing stops me from giving everything i've got to those jobs.

Playing in the NBA would be for me a Big Job 82 times a year, which isn't that much to have to get up for over the course of the year. Surely these players can get up for and get excited to play on the biggest stage for at least 90% of that schedule. Playoffs to me would be inconceivable not to get up for!!!

Exactly. Passion is the word. The question is, do we really believe most players are passionate about their basketball? Did it show in the way they played? Are they playing because they love it or because they are in it for the money? You can tell when a player is playing basketball and having fun while doing it, it is contagious. Win or lose, fans leave the game fired up, supportive and not feeling down because they fought and gave all they have. You can't fault them. When you see players on the court without fire in their eyes, like zombies, not even all the talent they have can save them.
