yeah, woody really did a horrible job coaching when he let shump blow his knee out. or when he let amar'e guard that fire extinguisher.

to my mind the only mistake woodson made was not tanking for 8th.

Phil Jackson would never work for Dolan.

Woodson is not a good coach. This will be his third straight playoff sweep as a coach. I already knew he was awful but that 18-6 thing is going to live on and people will say he's amazing for it. Hawks fans hated him because he was an awful playoff coach. He still is. I really hope Woodson doesn't return.

It all depends who we are gonna get. If we don't get a star coach, he stays. Though he is probably staying anyway because of the dynamics

Woodson don't play still does he?

This one is not on the coach.

How many coach's most of you think we gotta get?

WE can't fire them all can we?

Get Jax in here but its a long shot.

Woodie earned the gig if Jax passes.

Agreed - Jax! There really is no one else if he says no? Sloan? Callipari? Don't think so.

look, as bad as this team is, Woodson is a terrible playoff coach. when teams kick it up a notch in the playoffs, he is clueless. Where is the no layups rule? the hard fouls. Where is the emotion, anything? why did woody let them keep throwing those low passes at Chandler's shins when he fumbles them away (he did it like 6 times this past game). Seriously, why not lob? Why not let Josh harrelson defend lebron or bosh in the low post? Why not deliver some hard fouls?

Knicks need to get Eric Spoelstra. This guy took 3 underachieving stars to the finals in year 1.

Great coach indeed.

No one would have any problems with the Melo ISOs if he actually was hitting his shots like he did at the end of the regular season. Can't lay it on the coach if the players aren't executing. They tried to run PnR with Smith too but he was throwing the ball away. Is that supposed to be on Woodson too?

This was the game that sold me on letting Woodson go. We can use any excuse we want, especially the injuries. Truth is, Woody earned all the respect of his defendants by beating the odds even without a healthy team.

But now that the playoffs start, suddenly we lose two in a row, suddenly being shorthanded really dictates a result and now we are about to be swept. Coincidence that Woodson was fired from Atlanta because of this?

Use all the excuses you want for the series, truth is he sealed the deal with this last game. Game 3 was supposed to go to NY. Miami was off and any adjustment on offense would've won it. Woody found another way to lose a playoff game, his postseason forte.

If you root for Woody to stay and get your wish, enjoy the season and just tune the Knicks off when the playoff start.

I hate that people are always blaming MDA but it wasn't MDA's fault. Melo made his noise because it wasn't ISO all day every day. Also, Melo did not appreciate adjusting his game to fit around Lin. It was obvious Melo played poorly because he was protesting the MDA/Lin love fest.

Melo is a selfish player. A championship means nothing to Melo. He's just out for his own interest.

Ah, classic knick fan patience- always going for the big name and the quick fix, never letting a team and coach improve over several seasons. Here is a summary of this season:

We're going to win a championship this year
We're not even going to make the playoffs
Melo can't play with STAT
BD will be our saviour
D'Antoni should be fired
(Lin Sanity) D'Antoni is great! Lin shows his system works!
We're going to make the playoffs
Melo won't be able to play with Lin
BD sucks
We're not going to make the playoffs
D'Antoni should be fired
Melo sucks, he needs to be traded
Amar'e has lost all his athleticism
(Woodson takes over) Oh wait a minute, Amar'e looks great! Melo can play with him if he was only hiting his shots- he sucks this season, he must have a drug problem
Amar'e CAN play defense!
Lin, melo and Amar'e are playing well together and winning!
(Amar'e and Lin go out injured) Amar'e will never play again this season
Melo is an all star! He's leading us into the playoffs!
Amar'e won't be able to play with Melo
Melo needs to be the focal point on offense!
Woodson is a great coach- extend him now!
Amar'e returns! He's looking great!
Amar'e CAN'T play defense ever
Amar'e needs to defer to Melo, and come off the bench- the offense must run through Melo
(playoffs start)
Amar'e is terrible, he needs to be traded, he's lost his athleticsm
Melo sucks- we need to trade him
Melo shoots too much
Woodson should be fired, he is terrible
everyone sucks- trade everyone and fire the coach

We will never win a championship because we never have the patience to stick with anything- look at all the teams in the playoffs- most of them have had the same coach and system and players for years- we haven't had that since JVG left. If we hired Phil Jackson, all that would happen is people would go into next season saying 'we're going to win a championship', we'd underperform due to it being a new system and players learning how to play in it, and people woul start panicking (they'd probably give him a whole month!), demanding everyone be traded etc, and then the whole cycle would begin again.

Right, because all these years that's all we needed - patience. Us impatient fans can't tell what's going on on the basketball court. We're so impatient. It's all out fault that the team hasn't won a playoff game in 12 years. It has nothing to do with poor management and poor roster and poor coaches.

It's obvious to anyone who has watched basketball for a long time that Stoudemire-Carmelo isn't working and that Meloball as a whole is not conducive to winning playoff games. Something has to change, whether it's the roster or the coach or the philosophy, because keeping on this current path with this current mismatched team will only lead to more early playoff exits.

Im sure most fans would like the responsibility of what happens with the team. Truth is, for all we scream and talk, for all we criticize and love, we still can't decide the outcome for this team. If we could, last night would've been a win. Fans are actually patient because even if their words say otherwise, their heart remains with the team. Most here have survived worse and will probably do some more even if they feel like quitting following the NBA altogether.

Fans are not the problem, not even close. Maybe you mean ownership's bad interpretation of what the fans want. Because in the end, all we want is a win.
