That was absolutely awful to watch. It was a tough, close game until the 2nd Q, when the refs went on an absolute tear. They called EVERYTHING for the heat. It was one of the most pathetic things I have seen in all my basketball watching days- they literally ruined the game. After that our spirit was destroyed, BD was out with 3 fouls, Amar'e was out with 3 fouls, JR was being an idiot and Melo was stinking up the joint.

Add in a few more flops by Lebron, a hilarious flagrant 2 call on Chandler, then Shump's nasty injury, and you have by far the worst Knick game in years.

Look, the Heat would have beaten us without the ref's- we stunk, and Melo let us down, and Heat played great- but that's what gets me angry- why do the ref's feel they need to help the better team? It honestly, is ruining basketball. And it's not just Knick fans who were disgusted- if you look around twitter, you'll see players ridiculing the officiating and the flopping.

Going into game 2, we can hope that Tyson can actually recover- he was terrible (though understandably so). Hope Melo doesn't put out another stinker too. BD actually looked good until his body betrayed him. Amar'e vanished too after those fouls.

This game was a really soul destroying loss- I hope it doesn't hit the players too hard. There's still some hope left, but what already seemed like a tough series, just got even tougher.

I was expecting this to be a thread where we all share what we're drinking. (Blue Moon)

That's where I'm at right now. The Heat are a favorite for a reason, but if you feel the need to ensure they advance, why even have the first round of the playoffs? MLB uses a 4 team bracket just fine.

You can't overstate the deflating effect those calls had in the 2nd quarter, but it's irrelevant at this point. We knew refs would be an issue going in. I just want to see them come in Monday night and play angry after that embarrassment this afternoon.

I'm still not exactly seeing how Melo let us down considering the fact that he defended hustled and rebounded fairly well even with his offensive struggles but okay.
I'd really really like to Amar'e come off the bench but that'll never happen.
Hopefully Woodson will use these off days wisely and come up with an effective offensive plan.

Really, the ONLY way it can change (reffing) is if teams make a public stand. I would not be shocked to see a team walk off the court on national TV, that will get attention. There are few stars in the league so most players know how atrocious things can get.

I particularly loved Miami's no center solution, it's called "Flop" defense. Sometimes legit, but only around half. Loved that "Flagrant 2" reduced to a 1 on Chandler. Or Lebron getting "thrown" to the ground a couple of times. So sad to see. How can a person possible push that guy to the ground (JR) so easily???

We didn't play great, some terrible shooting by Melo when we needed him. Bonehead play by Davis and JR. Miami played great defense but also pushed a lot and that was frustrating to see.

Not to say I'm quiting, nor is the team, but if Shump is out and it sure looks like it is, this series is DONE.

I wouldn't say he let us down. He just shot us out of the game, or helped to - but clearly it's not on him. Shots will be off. Had his been on we would have had a nice lead and who knows where the game is at then.

As much as I respect Chandler for giving it a go Mike Woodson should have sit him after the first 5. The guy was off from the start and hurt the flow of the O on the PnR. He fumbled so many passess because he was so weak from being sick and was a turnover machine with the charge. Also Jeffries butterfingers did not help and he is not himself due to injury. Finally Melo, needs to step up. I give him credit for passing well to start but he should be on a 3 count and screen. The coaches also need to run a backside screen ,when trying to pass to Melo, to free the man up at the top of the key where the post entry man can swing it to him then throw back to Melo when he has the man locked outside after being fronted. I also think Woodson got overwhelmed and should have stuck to his rotation in the 1st quarter. Novak needs to be on the floor. He has a good match up with Haslem and Mike Miller so he can get minutes without getting totally killed on D.

It's on him because he is the leader of the team and he needs to find ways to keep the O going despite not getting his. Yes he hustled and played pretty good D but he is held to a higher standard. So he does not get any slack. O.K. he was frustrated but he should be setting some screens or something to get the going.

In the run-up to a competition, whether it's wrestling or chess, a man's testosterone levels rise, studies have shown.

After the game, the winner's testosterone will increase even more. And fans' hormone levels seem to mirror those of their athletic idols. In a group of 21 men watching a Brazil vs. Italy World Cup match, the Brazil fans' testosterone levels increased after their team won, but the Italy fans' testosterone fell.

Well the only good thing about this game is that everyone who played played horribly. It shouldn't happen again expect a closer game in game 2.
