As expected it looks like that no show against the Cavs will cost this team a chance at getting a playoff series win and the 6th seed. Everything the Knicks could of asked for happened to get them in outside of asking the Bobcats to win a game for them.Very disappointing that they let the 6th seed slip away because of lack of effort

It is disappointing but we could blame the loss of the 6th spot on pretty much any lose during the year. Heck, we lost a game to the Bobcats and the Celtics game when Pierce hit the 3 at the buzzer for an overtime loss kind of stick out to me.

True how many bad losses do the Knicks have this year. They could easily be the Atlantic Champs had they just showed up every night. This has been a disappointing year. Mostly because the depth of the team will be gone next season. In reality there is a good chance this will be the best roster this team fields with the core 3 players. Hopefully Shumpert turns into a legitimate All Star type combo Guard.

I can't blame this on the one Cleveland loss; there were many other losses this year that were really bad. Our losses to Charlotte, Cleveland twice, New Orleans, NJ, Toronto twice, and the last Indy game were all really bad.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Every loss is a bad loss.

17-6 feels a lot better than 18-24.

Agreed. I blame all 24 losses under Dantoni. Damn we finished the season with only 30 Losses after that. Amazing Job Mike Woodson truly incredible THANKS!

This was the one that really killed us. The Cleveland game we just didn't ahve it. It happens. But when you're up that much in the 4th you ahve to win those games. It's amazing how easily we could've had a 40 win season this year. But coaching, injuries, PG play and the general madness around this team attributed to poor stretches. It's amazing that we've put it together like this over the last 8 weeks.

Look I would have loved the 6th seed but if we want to go anywhere in the playoffs then we will have to meet the heat eventually. If our defense can be like it was when woody first took over and our bench has a real good series then i think its possible that we could upset the heat

I think we have a shot and I agree that we'd have to face Chicago or Miami eventually if we moved on, but it would be nice to win a series at least. Miami has always scared me because they are going to be on a mission. Although all the pressure in the world is on them which is an advantage I guess.

Crazy talk gents...Our goal is to win a Championship..We have awesome talent on this current team ..Our goal isn't to make it to the second round but to play and beat the best team in the league...The only way that happens is if we play the Heat, lose and retool and come at them again..We can only see what our weaknesses are by facing them...First or second round doesn't matter...I won't pound my chest all summer thinking wow we made it to the second round but got blown out by the Heat, that's great!!!..I don't want to lose to Indy and not learn what it takes to beat the best..IF YOU WANT TO BE THE MAN, YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE MAN!!.Bring on Miami!!!

Miami will be tough but they're not unbeatable. I've said it before every time we have played the heat this season we have been hurting while they have been at full strength. That makes a big difference.

For me, it wasnt the cavs game. That was a "sigh of relief, we've scrambled to make it to the playoffs and finally we're in" game. The Indiana loss was it for me (17 points up and playing well then just lost it) as well as that Boston game (foul Pierce, dammit).

Whats nice about finishing 7th and not 8th is we then get Indiana in the second round and not Boston. So yea doesn't matter who we play. In 99 we upset the Heat then had a favorable matchup against Atlanta and swept them then beat the Pacers. But then eventually met our match with the Spurs. You have to beat the best to be the best( all-time fav cliche!)

If only we had won every game since MDA left.
If only Lin had been born with knees of titanium.
If only we could be happy with making the playoffs and making some noise.
If only we could be happy we're not posting on the UltimateSixers board.

Personally, I would like to beat Miami again. It's been done before. Several times. Can you imagine how much hair Riley would lose?
I just hope when we do beat them, we have anything left for the next round...

For me, the first round against the Heat IS our Finals. We must show up to beat them. If we do, we can deal with the exhaustion after the fact. But THIS series is our chance to make noise. Enough with all the thinking ahead. It's time to take what's coming and prove we belong here.

He walked out on us so he could run the whole train set in Miami, when he had walked in talking about "credibility". No matter, he got year after year of getting smacked by us. He got his.

I had always secretly hoped he was going to break a bone when dancing over that chip in 2006.
