Am I correct that teams have use of the amnesty for this off season? Also, that's true what teams did not use their amnesty and what players might be out their in FA. I would assume that they might be willing to sign for low for a year like Davis and it mihgt be a way to get the roster back up with less money.

I would love Devin Harris and think he will be amnestied. How about Meta World?

Devin Harris just made the playoffs.

Medical world peace would be in prison if he came here.

Yup - I just watched the game. They played great to close out the game. Al J is a BEAST and Paul Mil had 26 and 15! Devin Harris I still think gets the boot.

I feel bad for Nash - woulda been nice to see him make the playoffs. Their team is really weak.

At least if we had MWP he probably won't sucker elbow his own teamates so we would be safer.

would anyone want Tryus Thomas off the bench. He is not what NY will need but he is an athletic body. Also, if Orlando blows up the team this summer I can see them getting rid of Hedo or Jameer. A FA to look at that might be good for the taking is Jamison. He got his money and has a few more years left so he might be looking to play for a contender on the cheap. He would be a nice back up 4 for Amar'e.

Devin Harris goes into the last hear of his contract next year, why would they amnesty him? And absolutely no to MWP. It doesn't even have to do with the fact that he's dangerously violent and couldn't be relied on to not get suspended. He's been washed up for three years now.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Devin is good but he can command a nice contract above the min.

The job is Lins.

The amnesty can be used once, but the player had to be acquired before a certain date.

How is Josh Childress? His number look okay and was kind solid in atl with woodson coaching.

Lewis would also be an option if Novak signs elsewhere

Metta could be an option, Imagine him guarding melo in Practice everyday

The problem is, if any player looks okay, they'll get picked up by a team thats under the cap before we get a shot at them. That amnesty waiver rule was invented to stop teams like us getting cheap talent. Heck, even Travis Outlaw got picked up! (and for a waiver bid of about 3mil per year!). We got really lucky with BD- the only reasons teams passed on him was due to his back injury and reputation for dogging it if he's not on a team he wants to be on.

Going forward we can only really improve via 2nd round picks (and our 1st rounders if we ever have them), because they're cheap and that's the only way we can hold onto players. I'm hoping that those 2 players we got the rights to in the Dallas trade will play in the summer league and show they can be bench players.
