If the question is 'Can we...', well, yes we can of course!

If it's "Will we...", I believe we will.

Unfotunately, after a long tedious and soul wrenching debate and analysis, the Knicks will fall two games short. They finish sixth in the east but will approch .500.

I would love to play the Bucks in the playoffs. They bring out the best in us! That is if KVH doesn't torch us lol or maybe TT will torch them

I think that 5 game west road trip may hurt NO.

My prediction, NO goes 10-10 with that and NY goes 14-5 with that.
I'm also predicting that the one of the knicks wins will be against the hornets and we win tie breaker

Dont get your hopes up though. Not to be a pessimist, but NY was supposed to win those games against Philly and Toronto. Philly came within 3 and we sucked in the first half vs Toronto. Same thing happened before the 8 game slump. People got so excited after a 5 game win streak vs some really bad teams (although a couple were good) only to lose versus the West. I wouldnt be surprised if NY only wins against half of these teams.

Why is it that most people think that when we play a team with a worse record than ours, its supposed to be a blow out.

"NY was supposed to win those games against Philly and Toronto"...dont know if you realized this, but they did.

Anyway, you ahve to realize that wins like those, even against weaker opponents, give your team confidence and momentum, which can be crucial against stronger opponents.

They'll build on those wins, and I'm sure they can beat any team right now. When your mind is strong, you can do wonder...

I think the Knicks loosing and winning streaks must be put in perspective of the fact that there was so much change in the roster. It takes a long for a team to come together. The ealier winning streak, during which we played some awesome ball by the way, was direct outome of the team gelling. The loosing streak was the result of the same thing, as we practically added 2 new starters.

This current, so far only modest, winning streak is once again a result of the team coming together and gelling. The starting five of Mohammed, Thomas, Thomas, Houston, and Marbury is developing chemistry. The bench has been revamed as well, as Sweeteny and FW have gotten a lot of time over Deke and Mooch.

Overall, I like the direction this team is moving in as the old, topped out players on the downswing of their carriers are being fazed out by promising young talent that is already better anyways. This philosophy is complelty new to the Knicks, at least in the past 20 years. This is also the philosphy that we all wanted them to adopt for a long time.

It is if thou Iseah has rebuilt the Knicks really, as we have obatined a multitude of young players. He did not do it through the draft, but rather throug trades and signings.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

They are definitely adjusting better now a few games after the trade, but to be honest with you the biggest difference is Marbury. When this guy is hot, the Knicks can beat anyone. When he's not, there are just no answers, and that's what happened in our most recent losing streak.

With more time, there will be answers.

Seeing Houston hit some big shots in the 4th quarter last night was very encouraging. If he's healthy, we can definitely depend on him to score. It's nice to have somoene who can hit outside J's and 3's, and who can make a shot when he's not open...

Do you mean that when Marbury is hot the Knicks can beat anyone in the Eastern Conference, right?

Yeah...and we can at least compete with some of the teams out west.

let's slow our row. we only won two games in a row thus far. we have a long way to go if we want to think about catching the hornets. the difference between that team and this team is that they are used to playing well down the stretch for playoff position. they have probably the most talented one-two punch in davis and monster mash in the east right now. we should be happy with holding off toronto and boston for now. if we continue our success in two weeks then we can talk about moving up.

Thats my point. Imagine what wouldve happened if they didnt win those games or won only one. The forums would still be in a suicidal mood with posts such as "Fire Lenny" all over the place.

I agree with jazz. Two wins versus crap teams shouldnt make people believe that we can catch up with NO. It should mean that we got back on the right track. If you think it means that we can compete with a top 8 west team, then get ready to be very disappointed.
can we catch up with the hornets ?
