I don't think STAT coming back was the reason we lost in Cleveland. The reason we lost is because we mailed it in tonight for some crazy reason. That worries me a lot about the makeup of our team.

But it was obvious Melo played different tonight with STAT on the floor. Now that it's obvious that Melo needs the offense run through him to be successful, Woody should make sure that happens. Stat has to play off of him. Let Melo play the way he was and he'll find open spots for STAT. Woody has to tell Amar'e to concentrate on D and rebounding. Everything else will work itself out.

If this happens STAT will be getting wide open looks and shots at the rim. It's time for coach to tell STAT that he's not option 1 or 1A if he continues to start. For the good of the team.

Very good post. I to think that the offense should run through Melo. Amare will thrive if he plays off Melo. Amare has an automatic mid range game, it benefits the team to have the ball in Melo's hand since he is the better player at creating shots for himself and is the better passer.

People have called Melo a selfish player. But I think he feels awkward asserting himself in the offense when he has a player of Amare's caliber on the court with him. He needs to play his game. Amare and the team will benefit.

I saw a quote from Melo in the NYTimes saying he won't change when Amare gets back..I think this game they were trying to get Amare back in he flow..I'm not worried, I think Melo will be agressive come playoff time...I think going forward he should turn it one the first quarter to see of Amare can work off that...Important thing now is to shake some rust off Amare

This. I agree with the other posters that they should run the offense through Melo but I think they will try to knock the rust off of STAT because they will need his skill set going forward and they want him confident going into the playoffs. I said in the game thread that we, the fans, should have known what game this was when Douglas came in. Woody never puts him in even in the last when Davis was out. He would rather run Bibby or Davis into the ground before playing Douglas. Is it wise who knows only the results in the playoffs matter.

What midrange shot??? What ever midrange shot Amare had is long gone. Amares new name should be butter fingers.

So true!, He loses the ball all the time now. He does a spin he losses the ball. He goes for a layup he loses the ball. He dribbles the ball and he finds a way to lose the ball.

Its moot point now (loss vs CAVs)

but before BUCKS was even knocked out of playoffs MELO didnt get credit for not just big win over Milwaukee then
but Carmello killed the "tie breaker" when Knicks won in Milwaukee, so that squasing the tiebreaker was huge huge
at that point for our Knickebocker team hopes, though we're in playoffs with series of Bucks /Sixers losses

We practically did play thru Melo to start the season, he was struggling, Lin came out of nowhere and amare started to get his groove back before his injury, and Melo seemed to have lost the reigns of the team. Now melo's on fire, but JR, Amare, and TD all feel they have to prove themselves. Bibby and Novak are more patient and know where the ball needs to go. Woody better straighten this out
