Run him off some screens let him slash to the basket.
Let him spot up for some shots.
Give him 10 shots per game, they will reap rewards.

JR SMith is a chucker that we have to live with. He gets hot at the right time, and he's a streaky guy.
We just need him taking better shots, and doing a little more driving to the basket. Too many jumpers from a guy
with his athleticism.

Adjustment #2: Landry Fields cannot shoot anything outside of 12 feet. He should only be slashing to the basket or getting close enough to flip it in.

Melo took about 5 0r 6 bad shots against MIami and he was still over 50%. We've got to cut down on the bad shots as a team because we are not efficient offensiviely.

OH and lastly - Melo & Shump, and Melo and JR need to run the pick and roll.

IF Tyson was healthy we would have beaten Miami. They got a kajillion off. rebounds.

For the first time in over a decade our team is really good and can give anyone in the playoffs a problem.

Next year with an improved Shump and a full training camp we should be beasts!

That is one problem I have when the so called expects say Shumpert has an erratic offensive game without considering the fact that unlike Melo and some of the bigger stars on the team no plays are being called for Shump. He does not have the benefit of a teammate setting a pick to get him free. He has to work extremely hard to put up his 10pts a game. Instead of Fields jacking up 10 shots and going 2 for 8. I too rather see some plays run for Shump. Especially since we've been without Amare & Lin this whole time

I agree and would love to see him more involved but he has to become alot less hesitant. I am sure that will come with some more time.

I think some of you guys have short memories. Shump was chuck Jr early in the season and has just now honed it in a little. He gets wide open looks and sometimes he takes them and sometimes he doesn't but that will improve with confidence. I am not sure he is a guy that can be ran off screens with because he is not a pure shooter. One thing I would like to see him develop is a post game when he runs the point. I do think they need to try and get him going instead of trying to get Fields going. Maybe they are not a defences are just letting Fields go but the Knicks have lost a great opportunity over these past 11 games to exploit a supossed mismatch but they do not have a 3 that can beat the other team's 4s.

Fields can not even hit wide open 5 foot chip shots anymore. I think if it is not a dunk he should avoid it, the only exception being wide open layups so he does not get blocked. I am obviously joking but man how bad has Fields gotten on the offensive end. Fields layups are so soft I am starting to get C.Frye flashbacks of his second year. If we could mix the bricks he throws with the softness of his layups he might be able to hit open shots again.

Iman should play a greater role in the offense, however, his shot regimine should be increased in increments until it is proven that he is managing his energy efficiently at both ends of the floor.

If Shumpert is asked to shoot too much, too fast, the inevitable misses may exacerbate the tentativity in his approach.

However, I'd like to thank Mike D'Antoni for seeing the potential in Iman to develop into a true two way talent, and Walsh for noting that Shump's shot was fluid enough to build on.
