Great news! According to Alan Hahn's Twitter:

Larry Johnson is back with #Knicks. He'll be introduced today as team's Basketball and Business Operations Representative

LJ's role will focus on player development, community relations and in marketing. So #Knicks now have Allan Houston and LJ in front office.

If there's any player who could use LJ's influence on development, it's Amar'e. Perfect guy to show him how to make transition from back inj

I wonder if it's mainly to work with Amar'e in case is back problems are here to stay- I'd love to see him add some of LJ's spinning moves in the post. It's great to have LJ back- nice to see us taking care of (some) of our legends.

When SVG gets fired this summer, there's a good chance Ewing and all the other assistant coaches will go too (the rumours are they will all get canned, and that DH is not a big fan of Ewing), at which point maybe we offer an assistant coach role to Ewing. The problem is he seems set on becoming a head coach, and may not accept anything less with us.

He could teach Chandler a thing or two or five about post moves. But so can LJ. LJ and Patrick are close and this could be a move that makes it easier for Pat to come back.

Great news. LJ pretty much disappeared off the face of the earth for a while. Glad to see him back with the Knicks and I agree with the OP that LJ's post moves would be a great skill to teach Amar'e among others.
