I'm one Knick fan whom believes that SIZE still matters.
Look at the SPURs, Look at the BULLs. Look at the MAVs when they won title last season.
Look at Championship LA Laker Teams before Shaq & After Shaq ?
Contrastly look at Miami Heat whom tries to get bigger but actually has size issues in the paint.

Which Knick team you'd prefer ? Team whom prioritizing jumpers with perimeter ball movement for best scoring opportunity,
while defending in Mike Woodson current system.

OR would you prefer Knicks build towards MORE size team building team priority going inside with ball movements more low post
for best scoring chances at game end ?

Don't get me wrong I love Novacaine (Novaks) and JR Smith jumpers in most games.
But I'd rather win games on the inside at least 2-3 minutes or regular season game OR NBA playoff game.

Which you prefer ? for Knicks to improve on 2012/2013 to become elite.
Knicks best chance to get BETTER quickly is in low post scoring consistently.

NYK Team prioritizes jumpers & perimeter ball movement for best scoring opportunity
NYK Team with MORE size team priority go inside & ball movements more low post scoring opportunities
Doesn't matter

In training camp next season, if Woodson is retained, they gotta master half bully ball with Melo mixed with half high pick and rolls with Lin and Chandler/Stat. They find that balance that they haven't had at all this year, then they could make some real noise next year. Too many injuries and bad losses to bad teams to overcome it feels like this year.

Agreed

Just think if NY had a Duncan type ?
or some big whom can play with Chandler give them 7-10 boards, some inside paint 14-17 pts scoring and also
be credible on D

You note the bigs Noah (BULLs) and others like Ibaka (OKC) are good
but arent great players. They are near their ceiling. KG on Celts isnt what he was once
Bynum on Lakers is improved but can make a shot in post in last two min

But they win games by having presence of the little things they do in game on both ends of court.

Melo would benefit and he loves the inside.

I Cant see teams winning deep in playoffs on jumpers or 3pts to advance
you got to play game all ways.

Those teams whom have some inside threats & paint play when needed will win NBA title
which is the norm in NBA over the years.

Dont recall NBA Titles won on jumpshots over series.

Right Chuck
and next season regular 82 games I cant see Melo having the bad yr. again in NY
not like this season

NY can only be better with a better or normal Melo return to form. We need pieces around Tyson and Melo.
Love Novak to come back, I like Lin as starter PG. Fields can come back as 2way player whom will improve under Woody.

Knicks need some size with Harrelson in the paint. Harrelson isnt great but dont have to be he's a player
whom isnt 6 11' or 7foot.

We need a banger PF big whom can be a force for points scores to open up the perimeter even more.
Melo as only Post player isnt enough to build championships

Harrelson has some post moves and is an overall good presence in the post. Goes after boards hard and is active with his hands .

they can't play brother !

ya know what we mean

Size for few whom got it and use their talents in games.

ALL the Bulls team whom won 6 titles had SIZE with Horace Grant, Cartwright, Kucok,
and bunch of role players over 6 8', 6 10'

the Rockets team was big, in their 2 titles
Celtics also were biggest team when they went to 2 NBA finals and won 1

Same for LA Lakers teams, those Spurs many titles,
the recent teams of HEAT and MAVs whom won 1 title each were not small teams

Think you know whom players were on all those teams
the Horry's, Mourning, Thorpe, the stars Gasol, KG, Duncan and Robinson,
Hakeem & Shaq, Dirk and Tyson Chandler.

One of issues HEAT will have is if their SIZe or lack of it don't show up in playoffs

OKC is big but I still cant see them winning this season on 40-50% shooting 2's
or 35-40% 3's. You need to win inside & their pct. will drop with ref calls in nba playoffs

It depends on who is coacing the Knicks next year.

Lamar Odom might be a player that would fit your scenario.

Odom's been a disaster this year. I'd stay far away from him.

It may be that his surroundings are having a negative impact on him. A return to NY and the buzz surrounding it could possibly rejuvenate his performance.

This whole offense needs to be reworked. We want ball movement but ours is so sloppy. There's just not enough good passers, shooters, or slashers right now. Our best point guard right now is JR Smith.

Like the awesome burger joint in Cali, I'd like us to go in'n'out. Balance the attack and the offense will be lethal. Also, the defensive gameplan against us would make some ugly ugly games if we were to go inside 24/7.

Having a regular training camp and a regular season will only help this team, as will guys actually coming into the year in shape. Nobody really thought there was going to be a season and the compressed schedule really hurt The difficult part is going to be keeping all the players together.

As far as the original topic goes, I think size does matter and the Knicks have it with Melo, Amar'e and Chandler in the frontcourt. Asking Stat to stay heathly and step it up on D is probably a lot, but that's going to have to happen for this team to win.

Odom need to be with the other Kardasian back in California

ITs the only thing which will make him 100% happier even if he aint playing as a CLIP or LAKER
Thus he cannot come to NY, NY wont make him happy.
