Im sure those who saw the game last nite caught this during last nites broadcast the sight of chinese language advertisements on the base of the scorers tables. Every team has this BTW, but not foreign language.

Its obvious the ads were paid for in anticipation of Lin playing.

IT was an NBATV broadcast and the ad's stuck anyway.

Was this because of a broadcast to china by NBATV or have some other games also been featuring chinese language advertisements?

While LIn was not playing last nite, I would be curious if the ad's run primarily when he is playing? That would make for more lucrative highlight exposure!

I recall when Hideki Matsui played right field there was permananet ad space on the right field wall.

Lin is not being traded.

I wonder if we'll see Hebrew language Ad's when Amare plays next season!

They announced this a few weeks ago. Part of the J. Lin stuff before his injury. There was a big increase of Asian fans. The Knicks were approached and a deal was struck.

I thought Lin falls in the Arenas rule. The most another team can offer is around 5 Mil I think and the Knicks can offer their full MLE.

Just want to point out that Chinese ads only appeal to Chinese fans and not to other Asian fans. Those two are not interchangeable. I am not saying you think they are but I am seeing it used where someone would think that based on how it's written more and more.

I'm pretty sure the ads were already paid by the company in advance with a predetermined runtime schedule. Cannot take it back (like buying playoff tickets). Lin has increased the popularity of NBA basketball in China, cannot put a figure on that. I think it's worth more than anything else since there are over a billion of people in China. You just cannot undermine the money value. Yao Ming already proved there's a huge market in China and if NBA doesn't grab on to it long enough, they'll lose the market completely to other sports. Hebrew viewers? The ones in US are already watching NBA and there's no point trying to elevate that in the Jewish market overseas (What's the population in Israel? 7 million (not discounting the muslim arabs, yeah, very tiny).

Nice article on Lin's possible options beside the Knicks. Lin's value is in his back story more than for his basketball skills right now.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7764300/what-next-chapter-jeremy-lin-story

If Deron leaves, the Nets should put in an offer on Lin that far exceeds the $5 million annual salary that the Knicks will offer him under the mid-level exception. If Lin signs, the Brooklyn Nets become a worldwide brand. If the Knicks match the offer sheet, they'll be fiscally handicapped through 2016 with a roster that still doesn't make a whole lot of basketball sense. Toronto is paying Jose Calderon about $20 million to be their point guard for the next two years, but they, perhaps more than any other team in the league, need a face for their franchise.

The Knicks played that game IN Indiana!!!!

That is what made the courtside ad so interesting.

Im sure the Nets "Should" offer him more, but Im not sure they can.

Knicks will resign the kid. If we don't want him we can always trade him.

He has to be worth a 5-15 first round draft pick at the very least.
