this is not necessarily a good thing. I know the Knicks have decent doctors and training staff, but sometimes when you can't feel pain your push yourself way to hard and aggravate the injury more. If he needs surgery at any time I would rather it be sooner than later
The Epi includes a mix of Cortisone (a Steroid) and pain killers, both short and long duration types and the whole mix serves as an Anti inflammatory treatment. This is good cuz it also allows STAT to stretch and do other therapy to help give a long term relief to the spine. His disc isn't herniated but merely bulging. From what I understand he's not likely to do anything that would cause a more serious injury just cuz he was more or less pain free. Not if he's able to get the swelling down, which is the main cause of the pain and at the same time strengthen his core. They say you can have up to 3 Shots a year if needed. Sometimes it's so effective that you have long term relief as long as 3 years. Before they would operate they'd 1st track the healing progress of the Disc to see if it shrinks on it's own.
