the folks who wanted kenneth faried weren't wrong, but shumpert has been a fantastic pick. the kid has poise. when he can gain some consistency with his offensive game, he's going to be a force in this league.

he really does remind me of a young sprewell.

Donnie Walsh has called a lot of things. Too bad people shat on mostly everything he did.

Do I need to bring up every draft thread of Donnie's tenure or nearly every trade Donnie made? 90% of the people were railing on him.

Came down to shump or singleton and gotta credit MDA for this one as well as Donnie let him pick between the 2 and fortunately picked Shump because we had more of a need at the guard than forward. Faried is a nice player but you can always find hustle guys maybe just not as athletic but Iman is going to be a special player

What I liked about him tonight was he did not hesitate - he looked confident as a shooter.

He has a really silky looking J especially when it goes in.

I think that he looked much more comfortable shooting off a double team down low on Melo than a drive and kick buy the PG's.

Thats what I say to people who like to say Shump takes too many bad shots. He doesn't. They were just not going down but the form is definitely there. Fields used to get a pass for taking bad shots Shump never had that luxury especially since he was forced to run the point as a rookie before Linsanity. Since then after being moved to SG next to Lin & Davis he has mixed it up nicely inside & out

Well ... there are some shots I can do without and that are not part of the flow of the offense. I don't like seeing one on one / jacks. Davis does that sometimes and I can't stand him for it. JR does it and can be alot of fun with the shake and bake - behind the back dribble and pop (if it's going in).

Shump is still learning and he is a rookie. His shots need to come withing the flow of the offense.

Guess what his boss Jim did to Donnie's work?

you have to be excited about the future backcourt of Lin/Shump when you think of how smart and tough they both are, and Shump is such a great defender. Reminds me a lot of a more skilled Raja Bell. Love Shump

Love Shumpert, he could be a huge impactful player for years. I just love guys who defend like that and take pride in it. I will also give MDA some creit for allegedly preferring him when consulted.

However allow me to stir the pot when I say that Donnie's biggest mistake was picking Dantoni. I mean it.

"Shump and Lin" is a nice back court. Balanced if Shump can be a outside threat.

The only bad move Walsh made was Jordan Hill

I was definitely leading the Faried charge and think he's going to be a special player. But I can't complain. Besides Shump's production, he plays guard and that was more of a need than forward, even before Chandler signed

I hear Mister H20, Allan Houston, has started coaching Shumps on his Jumper and running around screens, telling Shumps "More Arc on your Jumper, Please". God, I would hate to see what Shumpert does to the league after a full off-season with Allan Houston.

Shumpert with a consistent jumper (is asking for 46 per cent bring too greedy?) is All Star material.

Stay inside the three point arc young man.

46% was Melo career FG% - so I would say that we need more from shump.

If he shoots 46 percent he's the second best SG in the East behind Wade. I would settle for 43 percent and a drastic cut in offensive fouls

Not that much more. In his second NBA season Michael Jordan shot .457. I'd gladly settle for that.
