I am more worried as to why Lin is not playing. What are the Knicks not telling us about his knee? Although I admire Melo's new found toughness, he may really aggravate the damn thing.

rest for what? we are in a fight for the playoffs; every game counts. play through it -- kobe played with a broken nose, concussion, and still has a mangled wrist. melo can "tough out" a strained groin.

We definitely can, but we have to win it with our defense.

Tyson has to stay out of foul trouble. Melo has to score efficiently. Douglas has to give us something positive off the bench. Hopefully JR and Baron are going to be more on target than they were last night.

Lin probably has early signs of jumpers knee/tendonitis. Assuming that it was affecting his jumper/finishing ability - but probably more importantly, his explosiveness.

The groin thing Melo has probably has more to do with discomfort with lateral movement... but shouldn't impact his straight line motions too much. (tho he does use the spin move/pivot in his arsenal quite a bit when he's feeling right).

You should know by know, past Knick policy has been to play injured players until they worsen the injury further and ruin their careers. All about short term-ism!

TripleThreat wrote:Carmelo Anthony's "brand", and by extension, his wife's, which is reliant on his success or not, can get some uptick if he can lead the Knicks on a winning streak WITHOUT STAT and particularly Lin.

Dough boy should have played harder and been in good condition earlier in the season, and maybe the Knicks could afford him to rest now.

Melo really played his hand badly. If the Knicks win now, it's what he was supposed to do, it will still be Lin's team. If the Knick's lose, they can't win without Lin and it's Anthony's fault.

Fortunately, I think most fans are smarter than that.

My expectations are low (though I think we can win any game) tonight without JJ, STAT and Lin. I also have the feeling that Howard will destroy us. He will probably see alot of JORTS on his tonight.

This is not a good matchup toninight.

because EVERY game pretty much counts. Milwaukee won last night and are only 2.5 games behind for the 8th spot. We need every available hand on deck to make this run for the playoffs. Melo has to get his Kobe on and play through if possible.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

if you look at the schedule, Milwaukee is likely to go 6-0 over the next week or so. The Knicks in all fairness could easily go 1-5. We need to steal a few games. Melo needs to play

To this day, I rue that Celtics loss and ultimately, that Bucks/Philly loss. Could've given us a bit more cushion. On the other hand, we do have a manageable 4 games ahead. Hopefully we get full strength Knicks (without Amare) by the 3 April game against Phili. That will be the key.

tough call, but none of us know how bad it is only that he will not be 100%

Now we know why. It was melos fiendish plot to first cause an injury to Amare's back, then pretend his groin was injured so that he could have a good came and prove that he is "the man".

Effort Is Contagious

“I feel like that’s what we need right now. You see it in him. He wants to be out there. He’s fighting through it. He knows it’s an important time of year. If he’s willing to fight through injuries and play and be banged up, I mean, everybody has to fall in line.”

- Steve Novak

One more thing Steve, keep shooting it.
