Linsanity is gone and Woodsanity is in? Wtf? Look at Jeremy Lin's stats since Woodson took over. Double scoring on almost all the games, a double double, consistant on assists and rebounding. His steals are astounding and even had a few blocks at 6'2". Best part is he's only costing Dumblan less than $900,000 this year with those stats! It's still INSANE. Why is the media dissing him like this? Hell, even his TO ratio went down drastically. Someone paint me a picture that I don't see please. Either that, or my kindergarten math needs refreshing.

Lin is playing excellent ball, but during his Linsanity stretch his level of play was on par with the all-time greats. Lin is excellent I am sure happy to have him on the team, but he's not putting up Oscar Robertson's stats anymore

Linsanity is gone:

-That stretch was 1 player being the leading scorer every game
-with run and gun style offense
-and frenzied but sporadic defense and close games
-High turnover rate
-Games in the 100s
-Most likely a fluke or flash in the pan (Lack of scouting and only 3 decent teams in that 9 game stretch)

Woodsanity era is:

-better team defense
-more balanced scoring
-opportunistic fast break points
-better half court execution
-higher point differential in wins
-Low turnover rate
-can grind out playoff type games with this type of play
-Better outlook for improving seeding and making noise in the playoffs

many people love to hate (is that an oxymoron?) Many people don't watch the games and think stats tell the whole story and many are jealous and or sick of the ESPN coverage he got while some people are just stupid.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I think that's pretty much it... I would ike to add that many people love to hate the Knicks. Spew some venom and the rest of the country reads the article, and the Knicks fans too so they can share how dumb the national media is. Pretty smart way to generate ad revenue

"Linsanity" has a different meaning depending on who you ask. During the 7 game win streak when people started using the expression, Lin averaged close to 25/9. As ChuckBuck pointed out, he was the leading scorer.

Although Lin is putting up quality numbers now and his game is getting better, strictly speaking they aren't "Linsanity" numbers anymore. The term seems to be getting thrown out now every time Lin has a good game. Lin is playing very well after the drop off and getting better, that's more important than the label.

You hit the nail on the head with the Knick hate. I remember in the 90, many Knick fans no only jumped **** but, the level of hate some NEW YORKERS have for the KNICKS is bad enough but the level of hate we get Nationwide! It has to be small penis...I mean small city syndrome. Not every City is so Great you have to say it twice, New York, New York!

Thank you GustavBahler. After the firing, "Linsanity" era did indeed die with D'Antoni. Although the offense is similiar in structure to MDA, they run less PNR's compared to the Linsanity run and they don't run out on the break as much as well. This is all on purpose (More deliberate, play-calling style by Woodson, instead of read-react of MDA). I know there's alot of posters and fans that will defend "Linsanity" the man to the death after criticism warranted or not, but I see a better PG for this team right now. I don't think he's had more than 3 TO's in a single game during this run.

Well put and good point about Lin cutting down on the turnovers under Woodson. Woody made it an issue from the start and it has paid dividends.

Lin should get most of the credit because he's the one taking better care of the ball. It does prove that Lin's game is getting better despite the drop off in production since the win streak. Best news of all.

or it could just be that during Linsanity there was no Amare who over his last 5 games is scoring 19ppg on 54%

That's part of the reason for the drop off and great news. Lin doesn't have to work as hard to keep them in the game.

Amare actually played 5 games during that 8-1 run.

I thought Fish meant that there wasn't the same production from Amar'e, that's what I read into it.

Thought Fish thought Amare was gone for the death of his brother for 9 Linsane games. Fish, care to enlighten us?

During Linsanity, Lin was the featured guy able to score and pass as he pleased. He wasn't ready for that type of responsibility once the scouting reports came into effect. Now he is a 3rd option with less pressure freeing him up to do his thing. Under MDA you stop Lin and you stagger the whole offense (as I said before wasn't ready for that type of responsibility). Under Woodson you have to stop Amare and Melo before worrying about Lin.

Rest In Peace Was The NYPost Headline

JamesLin wrote:Linsanity is gone and Woodsanity is in?

Even the normally factorial Howard Beck of the NYTimes screeched the sky was falling.

Like Linsanity, there was not a single so-called expert who forecast the effectiveness that would result from a more disciplined approach to basketball.

Direction is a good thing.

Bingo. Also as a side note, Woodson's little wrinkle of having Melo dribble the ball up the court to alleviate pressure off Lin is just plain brilliant. Something MDA couldn't drum up once against all those Lin traps.
