Just got released by Denver. Should we grab him for some depth behind Chandler or stick with Jorts, even though it looks like he's being phased out by Woody?

Stay with Jorts and JJ.

Turiaf played great for us last year at center but by no means is he a starter.
Nice to have the luxury to have another option to go to with limited minutes as the hustler/defender/rebounder and undersized role.
He made some great blocks and played some great defense with Amare. Wonder what he could have done with TC?

This addition would send back Jordan to the D League, unless one of our biggs are injured.

or/and and get another shooter with

Kapono
Nocioni

They are smarter team players to me, a bit more team oriented, but not as gifted physically like bone headed/clumsy Walker.

I hope TD gets back a shot, with limited minutes can find a bucket, and play some defense like he should be capable off. Like Amare, he just needs a couple tweaks from his brain... Interesting to see how he can do without playing PG, making decisions, succeed with this ball movement, and also have the shooters to spread the floor again with him.

Waiver candidates?

Bibby??
Walker??

I liked Turiaf on Defense and would not mind having him back, but only if the rumors of being a locker-room malcontent are not true.

I say yes. Turiaf is an excellent backup and I love the energy he brings. He never took a playoff and he played within himself.

I would sign him just to keep him away from other teams.
Some extra fouls to give never hurt either. He can battle
Tyson for best bench cheerleader on the team.

I wouldn't waive Bibby unless we got a PG in return. I know we are steady right now with Lin but Davis is still a health concern and Bibby has proved he still has something in the tank.

Walker is an interesting case. We seem to have enough SGs in Smith, Shumpert and Fields, though only the first one really shoots. Toney won't be waived as he will have value if he can show he still can shoot.

Adding defensive depth at PF/C would be nice, especially since its evident how important a guy like Jeffries is to us. Now, Jorts is good defensively so its not like we don't have depth there already. Would I waive Walker to get Turiaf back? Not sure considering his injury history and the fact that Walker is a good 3pt shooter.

If we could get him as an extra body for the playoffs I would. Bibby will get no run here.

I'm just not sure there's a place for him, we already go 10 deep, 11 if you count Jorts. Turiaf will probably want to sign somewhere more likely to give him playing time, so figure Miami, Lakers, Boston(?), or some other contender that needs big man depth.

Turiaf is a funny dude. Loves his enthusiasm. He cheers and dance from the sideline. NY Knicks would benefit greatly with Turiaf backing up Chandler.

Guy can't stay on the court for more than two games in a row!

Love him when he plays, but it's so rare that he can ball that it's not even worth it.

Do not want to make a new thread but Would D. Fisher be an upgrade over Bibby?

No thanks to Derek Fisher, the fossil.
And, no thanks to injury prone Turiaf.

My problem with Turiaf is his decision making, which could be pretty bad at times and he breaks down a lot. But he does bring energy.

I still would like Trevor Ariza for Carmelo Anthony. Ariza isn't an All Star like Anthony but we don't need Anthony anyway. I want a complete team. And Fisher is a huge upgrade over Bibby. Having him on the team brings leadership and he can still take big shots to add a few extra dents in team. The guy won five championship.
