New York Knicks point guard Baron Davis left Friday night's 115-100 win against the Indiana Pacers with a strained right hamstring and did not return.

Davis will sit out Saturday's game against the Pacers as he recovers.

He said he tweaked his hamstring while guarding Indiana's Darren Collison early in the second quarter. Collison drove past Davis en route to knocking down a 13-foot floater.

Davis said he felt a "little pinch" after the play. He turned the ball over on the next possession and was replaced by Jeremy Lin with 9:10 to go in the second quarter. The substitution was planned, but Davis called it "perfect timing."

Instead of traveling to Indiana, Davis will remain in New York on Saturday to receive treatment on the injury. He is optimistic about returning in time to play Tuesday against Toronto.

"It's nothing serious," Davis said. "I should be all right in a couple of days."

Not good for a guy his age.

"Right now Jeremy Lin is our starting point guard and Baron is backing him up," Woodson said during his pregame chat with reporters. "That's the way it's going to be the rest of the season pretty much unless somebody gets hurt. I like that rotation. We also can move (Iman Shumpert) over to one sometimes. That's kind of the rotation I'm looking at right now."

He looked like he was just starting to get the tread back on his tires, too. Hope it doesn't linger. Bibby's got a great headband and all, but...

Woodson's plan to bury Lin on the bench - foiled again.

Maybe this opens up Toney D's return to an offense that suits him better.

that's why I would never start baron. he gets injured cos he is old and you just stunted Lin's development. Assuming Baron misses a week or 2 who is backup Shump, Bibby or dare I say it TD. I can see TD playing better for Woodson since he doesn't have to jack 3's in his system

Saw this coming. Imagine what's gonna happen if he takes a hard foul

I stated long ago before Lin started can't depend on Baron to be healthy. I saw it here in Golden State and Clips.

td wasn't jacking 3's last year. i think his shoulder has been a problem all year. hopefully he's healed more and if woody calls his name, he can play like he did last year.
