24 hours and the knicks have 2 coaches sacked! Thats gotta be a record. I think he was a good coach and lost the team too. He would make a great defensive assistant.

He lost Ogden (never really had him), Roy, Felton sucking it up (dogging?), also many many lineups and a revolving door.

Bad Rep?

Does MDA fit there? No real PG and a good ISO guy in Aldridge.

Feel bad for N.McMillan
He dont deserve this nor Blazers do not deserve Nate.

Nate will be on NBA-TV then find another NBA job real soon we hope he's been a classy nba guy as a player and coach

Nate was a good coach. There are some parallels with Nate's situation and Coach D'Antoni's. They had to act as the fall guys if the franchise will move forward.

This is the easiest form of cleaning up in the NBA, fire the coach. It's a fresh look. It does not always mean the coach was the real problem.

Nate had good seasons and he consistently overachieved with a Portland roster burdened by injuries.

Nate will find a good position next season if he wants it. I think he would be a good fit for New York Knicks.

I'd bring him in as an assistant but kinda anxious to see what Woody can do with such a stacked team. If things go well he should be extended. It would be nice to develop our own top coach who isn't 70yrs old. If it doesnt work out then you hand Phil, Thibs or sloan a blank chek

The problem with Woody is that 24 games will not be enough to give him an honest apprasial. The team is guaranteed to go on some win streak only because the coach has changed; they would win the Portland game, for example, by 42 points even with a stick of celery acting as head coach. And then they will dip the celery and eat it after the game with some wings.

See how they will go with Coach Wood for an extended term, but will he have this opportunity if some good name comes along?

To my mind, Nate McCmillan >> Coach Wood.

It would not be a bad fit. The Portland team doesn't have any heavy names or egos. It seems ripe for someone like MDA to come in and pump up the volume. Felton has already balled in the Sistema.

An interesting article, I do not know where I read it now, mentioned that Carmelo is the only basketball player that did not benefit from a hearty statistical inflation under MDA. Most guys under MDA's Sistema shoot through the roof and secure the big cash money. The Portland roster is ripe for this.

you ever notice that most of our big wins under MDA seemed to come against the western conference teams? i think his style just works better out in that conference. portland would be good for him.

kind of surprised portland let gerald wallace and camby go, though i guess they have batum.

Coaches lose locker rooms all the time. Who is the cancer on the Blazers cos apparently its the only ground to fire coaches not results

You may be on to some with the western conference thing. Knicks plaYed well against the west his whole tenure here. Which makes it even more mindboggling that he lasted 4 yrs here and even took the Knicks job

Because the West runs and is more open. The East however, is more of a grind it out half court game and are built for more ISO's.

Knicks had great games against Heat, Bulls and Celtics. Our style of play wasn't the problem.

Nate is a good coach but things just deteriorated. Don't know what they're doing management wise.

Many would argue that our style of play was exactly the problem.

Many of us "fools" laugh at the geniuses that are crying now.

Many of us "fools" will remain true Knick Fans through it all and not abandon our team because of a dented and fragile ego

Plenty of crow to go around.

We all get a serving from time to time.

Portland has similar ownership to Knicks. Brain dead owner who changes GM's like we change coaches.

I heard on espn radio that they were planning on moving on from Nate but wanted to wait until after the trade deadline to not weaken their position with other teams.
