I only caught a few minutes of the game last night. Did Woodson change up the offensive system? It would seem hard to imagine that he made wholesale changes in one afternoon. Lin's role looks to be reduced (which is good IMO because he turns the ball over too much). Did we do more post-ups? What did Woodson fix, and where is the offense headed for the rest of the year?

they played like they should against a team that was playing terrible.. Knicks played like they did during Linsanity, passing the pass, playing great D, huslting all around. That simple

The system was pretty much the same. The team came out with a lot of energy and the Blazers are just a terrible team. The team made an effort to get the ball to the player that had a mismatch. STAT was getting the ball down in the post, the ball movement was good and players were moving well without the ball.

Woodson was quick on the time outs if the team started to play stagnant or the Blazers started to make a small run. There was a point in the game where the Knicks were up like 30 points and the Blazers went on a 6-0 run. Immediate time out.

A win is a win but the true test is going to come Friday against the Pacers.

I only saw highlights but teams often do very well right after a coaching change. They are unified and need to win over the fans.

Melo with his no look pass was looking to get some assists and win over the MDA guys on the team.

Blazers are sort of in a crisis mode themselves and were prime for getting blown out.

Agree, winning is always a good thing, however, last year after getting Melo there was sense of optimism only to be banish a few months later, hopefully this time the wining is sustainable (not just for the remaining of this season) because I would hate to go through another rebuilding mode and watch my team lose on a daily basis.

I doubt we see a similar effort the rest of the year. I hope they prove me wrong. But after the coach left/was fired, they played with a purpose- as most teams do.

The team won. Pathetic competition masks a ton.

I was at the game. Knicks moved the ball well, shot the lights out and even played good D, particularly Shump and Jeffries. But everyone played well. Melo was great. So was Stat. JR and Novak barely missed -- I think JR made 7 3's and Novak 6. And, as others have said, Portland looks terrible. They've got some talent, but they were totally uninspired. Was sad to see Ray Ray play so poorly. He really sucked.

Knicks played D'Antoni's system -- offense and defense. The substitution patterns were a little different. Really played 2 5-man units, with Baron and then Jeffries coming in to play a little sooner than the other 3 2nd team guys. Hard to know how minutes would have been split had it been a competitive game, but it seems Baron would have gotten roughly 1/2 the point guard minutes, Jefferies slightly less than that, and JR, Novak and Shump slightly less still.

I think they were relieved that the Melo/MDA thing had been resolved.

For that reason alone, it was the right move. Melo or MDA had to go to save the team and it was obvious Melo wasn't leaving.
