no. your assumptions are off.
1) It could be about Melo being off team
2) Dwill is a humongous upgrade over Lin
I agree he's a huge upgrade. And I like Lin. But it proves a couple things. D'Antoni needs an all-world PG for success and can't do it with an otherwise very talented team. And it also proves that even Mike didn't believe in Linsanity. If he did he should've fought for his job and "system" and benched Melo.
it doesn't prove anything.
It's proves that MDA wanted Melo for DWill.
I disagree. It speaks volumes of what he needs to suceed as a coach and his glaring shortcomings as a coach.
wanting DWill over Lin speaks volumes? Every coach in the freaking NBA would want DWill over Lin. It speaks volumes about your logic.
Here's my logic:
D'Antoni needs a PG for his system to work. Fine. D'Antoni had Lin, who proved he could play at a high level even though he has plenty to work on. Aside from Lin you have a roster full of All Star's including Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony has not bought into the system. Rather than figure out a way to make your young PG and All Stars work together, he tried to get rid of the star player he was at odd's with while alienating the young PG who almost saved his job. Why? Because he needs one of the best PG's on the planet to make this system work and can't coach someone up and make an example of them if they don't buy in.
Seems like a good guy, but he is a weak coach.
