First of all, I never heard a true super star call himself a superstar in a post game Q&A with the media.

He went bitchn to the media after playing the knicks about being a super star and not getting super star calls..
When have you ever heard a NBA super star say in public that he deresves super star treatment..

For a player as good as he is, and a noramlly humble dude, that has to be the most arrogant comment i ever heard.. Then he said he was the pg and ask a reporter to tell him how many shots he put up, reporter said 29, he said EXACTLY, what does that tell you..

He lost major cool points in my book. and he's probably never going to win a ring..just a whole lot of division titles and conference tiltle..

It's amazing when you listen to a super star who has a ring and a super that doesn't..

the difference here is Rose says it in public media.

thats right you say it to the ref, and jordan, bird, kobe, miller, magic, kareem, ewing, ect would never say that to the media.

rose score a bunch of points, but you and i both know, the bigs won the game..

His mind set is young, and thats why most players don't win until there veterens..And as I type this the league just smaked him with a 25k fine..

Rose is the youngest player ever to win the MVP and he isn't getting the calls he should. If Rose hadn't just won the MVP, I probably would have the same reaction.

Its a different era so it doesn't surprise me. I agree in general that Rose shouldn't refer to himself as a superstar but I think his motivation was to put the heat on the refs and the league more than it was about boasting. It was a smart move IMO even if it came off as somewhat egotistical.

Anyone interested in the interview in which Rose calls himself a superstar, here's the video. It's around 40 sec mark. I frankly can't clearly hear the question to which he responds he is 'the only superstar in the league going through this.'

I watch basketball as much for the personalities as skills on the court, and Rose's comment makes me frown. In general, I don't like the trend towards players leaving college early to start their NBA career. It's not good for the face that the NBA projects, and I actually think it's a disservice to the players themselves.
Anyway, in addition to the SAT issue, there was also the allegation that Rose's grades were fabricated or inflated.

Rose is a star/superstar. Many of today nba players are arrogant. They are also in spotlight alot more than nba guys 20 or 30 yrs ago

He is basically also a humble kid before all these comments came out & about referees ? he's right !
They are lousy and Rose perhaps need not toot about it but he did!

Rose isnt any different from the big mouth /ego's of LBJ
Dwayne Wade, Dirk, Dwight, ect.

I Dont see the big thing about Rose saying what is fact if he's getting hammered.
We can say that also about few other guys in league whom aint stars but get whacked & hacked.

K.Durant doesnt do this ego thing, lets his action talk plus Durant buddy my man Russ Westbrook is co_cky enough tough and
brash enough for entire team to rub NBA wrong way at times.

Kobe doesnt run his mouth too much anymore he's a little more mature than these ring-less young nba star chaps
Kobe also lets his action talks on the court.

Rose should come off too bad here basically kid is good

He not only didn't complain on that play but also made a fuss about being fouled like he got subjected to a spinal-snap suplex in mid-air. Anything less would not have been superstar enough.
