I think this trade would have been in our best interests given Amare's health and contract. I really like the thought of both Brand and Tyson swatting shots away on defense too.

Brand would be decent given the current coach and roster. He's a knockdown mid range shooter and strong defender. Only issue is i would be scared about what Stoudemire does in philly. They would be a dangerous team if he returns to form.

Brand would be decent given the current coach and roster. He's a knockdown mid range shooter and strong defender. Only issue is i would be scared about what Stoudemire does in philly. They would be a dangerous team if he returns to form.
I agree but think it's a worthwhile gamble. 2 weeks ago, might have done this trade. Now I highly doubt it though.

I think Brand's stats are a little deceiving because he plays only 28 mpg. Here are his per 36 min #s: 13.3 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 2.0 Blocks, 1.9 assists, 1.4 TOs. I would like the thought of Tyson and Elton protecting the basket. I also think his skill-set is less likely than Amare's to suffer as the two age.
