I swear he just makes this crap up to stir the pot of discontent. The one quote I remember from Smith himself at the time of the signing is that he had decided to sign with the Knicks after his conversation with Anthony. Now Berman has a mystery source that says Anthony was against the signing...oh pleeeeeeeeeeeease. I swear this guy has no morals whatsoever

Smith said he was considering the Knicks, Clippers and Lakers. He said what "sealed the deal" was a talk with former Nuggets teammate Anthony. "Playing in L.A. with the Lob City crew, and coming home and playing in front of my family and friends and guys I know, it was really a no-brainer," Smith said. "Playing with the system that fits my game to a T. It was a perfect situation for me. I'd have been a fool not to take it."

Melo likes having JR Smith one the team.

Smith is very valuable to have.

He makes Melo look good.

Look at my conspiricay theory: When Melo starts to get some heat, he relies on Smith. Smith in 24 hours posts a pic of his naked girlfriend and pouts on the bench. Melo pays the 25k fine. BUt instead of talking about melo, we talk about smith!

And what's annoying is that this will become a bigger deal w/ the media as they continue to struggle and it only helps add to the problems between guys. The everyday Knick fan can only see what's on the surface.

I can't even imagine what Stephen A and that little prick, Bayless, are gonna say about this horse**** of a story. It's all such a ****in joke and really dimishes the credibility of sports journalism with all these Dbags saturated among the media.

That's the editors who make the headlines, not Berman. With that being said, he still writes crap. It seems like most of it is crap nowadays. Hahn was probably the best one and he even threw out a bad teaser now and then. Don't trust the media. Just trust the actual quotes from the named people.
