Maybe Melo and Chandler for Dwight?

Melo and Lin for CP3?

Melo for Josh Smith and Marvin Williams?

play Josh at SG or PF and bench Amare. Or trade Amare for Smith?

Smith @ sf. He played there before.
Smith is Marion 2.0. You put Iman Smith Ty on the floor at the same time and you got 3 very strong defenders there that are Natural defenders. Smith can hit the 3 and would clear the way for Amare and Ty. Smith has turned into a real nice player.

Ty
Amare
Josh Smith
Iman
Lin

With the bench we have is very strong defensively. Allows Lin to NOT regress and stay the attacking scoring PG he played his best as.

Melo isn't going anywhere not until Phil Jackson gets a chance to coach him.

Do you really see Melo as someone PhilJax would want to coach?

To my mind, he's nowhere near the class of play PhilJax coaches. He's not anywhere near Kobe or Mike!

I'll tell you what let Phil Jackson decide his fate as to what he is and what he is not.

Listen Melo is a good player he lead Cuse to a national title over the duke, uconn of the world. He's been right up there with Kobe & Lebron in leading the league in scoring every year. He has been real clutch with the exception of this year. He shoots 45% from the field. Whereas this year he is shooting 39. I'm not ready to give up on this team yet. The right coach with a great system can take this team very far. I was in favor of letting dantoni finish the year during Linsanity but it is evident MDA and melo can't coexist. And if u are trading Melo u might as well trade Amare. Then we will spend another 2yrs rebuilding and getting the players accustomed to playing together again. Unless you are trading for Kobe, lebron, durant or derrick rose its not worth breaking this team up yet again.

Would Dolan work WITH Phil Jackson?

I can't imagine Phil Jackson coming into a situation like this where you have Dolan and Isiah plotting against him.

Put it this way Phil will coach the Knicks for the right price. Phil loves superstars as much as Dolan.

How about we send Melo home with Lin, to the Nets for Deron Williams and some first rounders?

If management is as forward thinking as they demonstrated when got Chandler, you have to think they are doing their due diligence to find out what they can get for Melo out there in the market.

No insult to Melo if he isn't working out here. Its a bad fit. Doesn't mean he is bad.

At least, that is what you tell the GM on the other end of the phone, and what you tell Melo and the media when you ship his Marbury 2.0 Azz out of here!

Didn't he hire MDA, make the Melo trade, sign Stat ...?

Which moves that were not his are hurting us?

Lin, Chandler?

The only move that Grunwald made that looks crappy is JR Smith

Really? Vince Carter?
The team has sucked, but Melo has been on until he got here in NY. The moment they traded for Melo meant they were not going to be a MDA type of team. They should have just tossed MDA then and brought in someone who can implement something a little different.
This system is not working, the Lin finding is good, but we were fooled into thinking that we somehow found an ace when we really just beat bad teams.

Why can't we run the Triangle or something that would maximize the skill set of the players on the team. There was this coach, can't remember his name, who had great success running the triangle with 2 different teams, but with players of similar skill set.

They didn't have flashy HOF point guards.

You might have said the same thing about Kobe before PJax took over in LA.

The Kobe hating was way worse than this but who would want to remember that.
