It doesn't need to be deeper than that. That's the reason. If they gave half-a-****, you would see this in their actions. But they don't give a **** at all.

It's easy to not give a **** when you are payed so much. Only the highest characters, guys with integrity and good heads on their shoulders, would give a **** after being loaded with the cash.

Melo and Amar'e are not those guys.

I really can't argue with you on this. It's clearly not important to either players since they've never been good defenders and STAT has been a lackluster rebounder and defender for years. Melo gets a lot of rebounds of HIS OWN MISSED SHOTS!!! It's much different when you use great technique and effort and get a rebound or make a great defensive play. I can't tell you how many times i've seen literally ZERO effort on D from STAT and the same from Melo, tho he's less guilty than STAT, which isn't a badge of honor.

I've said this a million times but for years MDA took the hit for the Suns poor D and STAT even tried to lay the blame on MDA, but now that we get to see STAT every game, you can see that it was mostly STAT. As i've said, funny that Marion, Raja Bell and others managed to play hard on D. If MDA was the main culprit why then has this team played better D when STAT and Melo aren't playing???

That's the thing. There is no effort. No effort at all. There is only effort from Melo when he has a chance to score LOL, like you say, most of his boards are off his misses. That's when he gives a ****, because that's what gets you to the All-Star game, the points. That's what strokes his fragile little ego.

I have to admit that I was wrong about STAT I thought for sure that he would be better than this on D. I saw all the blocks he got last year and I thought well if he plays with energy he and Tyson could be even more dynamic. I'll give STAT some credit that he's looked more like himself lately, but still the defensive end is like a lunch break for him or something.

With Melo it's just the inconsistency of his effort. He'll play hard at times and then when you least can afford him to loaf he does and we suffer. Often times it was Melo's man that streaked down court and just got a layup. look I know STAT and Melo don't have the best lateral quickness but often times they don't move their feet at all.

These guys, all they do is play basketball. Their entire life right now is basketball. And they still can't show up on a nightly basis.

That's why I do hate Melo. This Knicks team is not watchable.

And herein lies the reason why we get beat by lower talent teams all the time. You've got less talented players giving MAX effort and playing as a team and not selfishly. In fact that's what the Knicks turned into when STAT and Melo went out. The Knicks became the scrappy MAX Effort team that beats more talented teams.

Well it's been a very disappointing year and some realizations based on what players have done over time. I really have been around here for a while and there have been times where i've voiced displeasure, but in this instance we sold off everything to get STAT and Melo!!! It's a crime that the 2 players we've mortgaged the future for don't lead by example.

Is it too much to ask for 20 mil a year players to give Max Effort every night? I mean that's why they're getting paid so much of our cap. They should be the REASON we win, not the reason WE LOSE!!! STAT and Melo literally are the main culprits in losses. Sure we don't have consistent 3pt shooting and to start the year we didn't have a PG, but now it's not about that as much as it is that we need more from STAT and Melo than points.
