Ron Mercer was waived today by the Spurs..maybe Isaih can give him a shot to get our scoreing up.. he;s still young at 27 and pretty athetic and can shoot. guys have any opinions on this? good move? bad move?

I'd take a chance on him if I were IT. Simply as insurance for H2O.

The thing is he would be ineligible for the playoffs.

As much as I hate to say it, I would like to see IT go for Baker - at least give him a 10 day. Why? He is tall, has some low post skills, can score, and rebound. Hmmmm if he can be had on the cheap then let him drink all he wants as long as he can stay in shape and perform.

We absolutly must get him if he clears waivers. He is young, talented, and a SG who can shoot. Something we badly need. Eventually he can replace Houston. If we do get him it will be a big steal.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I would rather have dion glover, remember Spurs know talent when they see it( Ginoboli) they let mercer go for a reason. Glover on the other hand wanted to be released to play for a team contending for the playoffs.

100% Agree with you on Mercer/Spurs. If he was a gem they would have kept him.

They only let him go because of his defensive inabilities. But for a team like us who needs a strong shooter as H20 insurance, he would be a good fit. A better fit than Vin Baker.

Just like Houston. You know what, we dont need anyone else to pass the rock, we dont need anybody else to help teamates, we need shots. Mercer HITS SHOTS and thats what we need right now.
