THREE POINT SHOOTING!!!

Most of our turnovers are coming on passes in traffic around the paint. We don't have a lot of reliable shooting and that's the biggest reason this Knicks team isn't killing it like MDA teams of the past. We still don't have enough shooting on the perimeter to open up the paint, so steams are packing it in. The only time we're hitting 3's is when Novak hits them.

Knicks shot 6-23 tonight and on the season this team hasn't been able to shoot from 3 at all. There was a brief stretch of good shooting but overall this team lacks floor spreaders. This year this team is shooting a horrid 31% from 3pt range. We can't run PnR without a spread floor. Teams have packed it in and left our shooters open, but we haven't hit at all.

Guys have to hit shots! Even if if it's not a 3 but a long 2, this team hasn't shot well from the perimeter except for Novak.

They wouldn't take Melo for Gallinari, I know that.

Start Novak at the SG. It may seem kind of funny and may be asking for mismatches but that's ok. But i agree, we need another Novak on this team. For the time being, he should really start though, i don't care if he isn't a real SG, it will be fine. He is the ultimate complimentary player for this lineup.

Last year the Knicks shot 37% from 3!!!

Last year Melo and Landry shot EXCELLENTLY from 3pt range. This is a huge part of the game and without it Lin will never be able to work inside like he was. It's HUGE. We can't win shooting 31% or LESS, like tonight, from 3pt range.

Novak got owned today on the defensive side of things. When a SF or PF he is guarding can post and/or take it to the rim, Novak gets in trouble. He is best as a situational dude, and for me that means he can never start.

Exactly. This has to come from Melo, Fields, Shump, JR, Lin and Baron. We have to make teams pay for clogging the middle. People around here talk about scouting, well the only reason they can be so aggressive on our PnR with Lin, is cuz we can't make teams pay from the perimeter and they know it. It's no secret to teams that we don't shoot well from 3.

I agree but like you said the other key is the stupid TOs that happen when players leave their feet in the lane to make a pass to the three point shooters. I never seen so many good shooters in a slump on one team though.

Also I should add that we've STUNK from the Free Throw line too! That has been something that has jumped up and bit this team many times and tonight as well. Knicks shot 15-23 from the line.

In the end Melo is the star of this team and he's the scoring guy we are supposed to be able to depend on and he's really not been a consistent savior for this team this year. Melo has shot us out of more games than he's won for us this year. Melo has to get his act together. I don't know what is wrong, but he's got to step up.

I want 3 things every game. Lin being aggressive and attacking the D. STAT staying aggressive and in the mix. Melo taking good shots and making good passes. Melo seems to have lost his Mojo. He's not playing very aggressively or very smart.

We also need these shooters to get in the gym and fix whatever is wrong with their shot. Fields has lost his shot almost entirely. Baron still hasn't found his shot. JR had that one good game and ever since he's been out of synch and taking AWFUL shots.
